Jackie- how is your neck? I'm sorry to hear you had to have surgery and hope all is well with you now. Wonderful that you got to see John even though you don't remember much!

Hello to all!

Good to see some news on here. I am in England right now. I'll be going back home on Monday. I'll have been here for 3 weeks then. Going to miss my friends terribly as this was my home town before we moved to the US so many years ago. Lots of memories here.

I haven't talked to Paul since I left but he's enjoying San Diego a lot. Loves it in fact. Said school is going well. He's already been there for 5 months now. Bought himself a nice car. Goes to the beach. I told him WE paid for that nice Audi with our tax dollars!!!

Jackie- so glad John has gotten back safe and sound. Where is he now?

Marilyn- Jordan's story still sends shivers up my spine! Glad he has made it through all these trials with a sense of humor! Enjoy your time with him and spoil him while he's home!

Terri- what is happening in Chris's life now? How is your new grand baby doing?

HI ALL!

Jordan is in Okinawa for 2.5 more years!  He is actually coming home on Friday for a couple weeks to visit.  He's had a ROUGH time since he got there!  He was bitten by a Pit Viper while walking near the Chapel 2 weeks after he got there. His wallet was stolen a week later!  And since he's on a food payment plan (it's too hard with his work hours to get to the Mess Hall) he had to eat canned peaches for nearly 3 weeks until we could get a new bank card for him! AND THEN last month he contracted a NASTY Staph infection in his feet (right foot the worst) - which became Cellulites...and they were talking about taking his three middle toes!  He was getting better and then he got ANOTHER infection (there in the medical center) that is usually only contracted in Iraq or Afghanistan!  WHEW! It's been a tough time - but he's had many opportunities to GROW and his faith has grown too!  He was cleared officially yesterday to come home on leave. YEAH!!!!  WHAT A YEAR, HUH?!?!?

Fill me in on your Sailors too!  I want to hear more about how things are going!!

Wow It seems like it was ages ago. John came back from the Sand box in March this year and came home for a visit, which was very nice he will be stateside until fall then who knows. Hope all is doing well.

It's almost been a year. Where are all our Sailors today?

Marilyn is Jordan still in Okinawa?

Comment by bryters ATI Whidbey Island on February 17, 2011 at 3:34pm

We are all good in Memphis, Chris is at Whidbey Island Washington. He's still in school also. he will graduate the first of March. He already has his orders and will stay in WA but be deployed (he thinks to Misawa Japan) our daughter will be having our first grandchild near the end of March, so that should take my mind of Chris.

I've been trying to get a Blue Star Mother group going here, But am not finding many mothers that are interested.

It is great to hear from everyone, maybe more moms will post soon.

Navy hugs to everyone.

OH - FORGOT TO MENTION that Jordan put on E-3 in early January!  And expects to take his test for E-4 the end of May or so...with the hopes on making the grade soon there after. :o)  He said E-4 is supposed to be a lot harder so he's studying a lot already!

Hi to all! Just got home from work and saw some postings on our group! Good to hear from you Terri and Katie [ and of course my Marilyn buddy!].

So sorry Katie you haven't been well. I pray you will recover soon. I know what major health issues are like having been there for years. It was good to hear about Jake and how he's doing. Are guys have been flung all over the place now. Except Paul! He just graduated A at GL and is on hold waiting his orders. He is now a ETSN [ electronics technician seaman] and will either go to SD or VA for C school [ his rate has one of the longest schools] for communications.

Hoping for a cruiser or destroyer ship.

We got to see him at Christmas but don't know when next. I know you moms who have kids far away our really missing your boys.

Marilyn- sure lets have another adventure- we're due one!

So how are you doing Terri?
