I got my first letter today!!!

Yahoooooooo I GOT A LETTER TODAY!!!!! Remember I'm only 3 hours from Great Lakes in Wisconsin so mail gets here pretty fast. Jake wrote while he was in church. Our church he attends on base provides paper, envelopes, pens and stamps for the kids that attend there. He sounded just like Jake, a little home sick but sounded good. So ladies I'm sure your letters will be coming soon. He did say he might be able to call soon..........It's true just that one short note makes all the difference in the world.

Pam........Your sons recruiter might know his A-school information. We knew before Jake left where and when his A school was going to be. Otherwise I think you have to wait to find out for your son when he gets closer to graduation.

Hi Pam-
PIR stands for Pass-In-Review - we know it as graduation. This link will take you to a very informative site. http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ If you take the time to read everything, many questions will be answered. It answered questions I hadn't even thought of!

Can someone tell me what PIR stands for? Also, does anyone know what life is like in A school? Will they be able to own a cell phone and call home more often? Will they be able to have their lap top computers or atleast have access to a computer?

Dawn- that's great! So happy for you! But not good news to hear their div is always getting into trouble since our son is in that one!
Oh maybe I'll get a letter this week- I'm going to be running to the mail every day now.
