Terri- so good to hear from you! it's a mini reunion! Chris gets both Thanksgiving AND Christmas off? That's wonderful! How is he able to get so much leave? How is he doing?

Jackie- have you heard of Romeoville? That is where I stayed when I went to visit Paul a month ago. Sounds way to cold for me there- 10 minus is average? UGH! Don't know when I would visit again. He grads in Jan- course he might be on hold a while and then maybe I would go and see him depending on where C school is for him. I'm hoping it's in VA.

It was a great surprise to see some new posts. Chris is also comming home for Thanksgiving, and for two weeks at Christmas. Still no word on his duty station or C school. Hug to everyone!

We are about an hour. It can get to minus 10 is about average, he will get the lake wind, when we were there for BC Grad I noticed it was about 5 degrees warmer then it was where I live. Let me know next time you come visit him and maybe we can get together.

Jackie- that's good to know. We had a lot of snow here last winter. Three and a half feet fell in 10 days! I told him it can't be as bad as that! But he keeps hearing horror stories. About the wind and your eyelashes freezing. Shovel outside the barracks when it's in the minus's. How far away are you from the base?

GL winter is not that bad. We have had more snow in the past few yesrs and not as cold. Tell him he will be fine.

John went through the Major Combat training as well and some of the things he told us about is just things we dont think about every day. We have been lucky we saw John after boot camp for that weekend, then in September for 17 days and then in October for 5 days. We will look forward to the spring.

THANK YOU for the info on Seebees! I had heard about the building parts and knew what they were doing was important (bridges are VERY important sometimes!!) but I learned about the defending the base part.

I know Jordan had to go through some MAJOR training in combat since the Chaplain's need to be protected, they are like body guards along with the other duties the RP's have. I guess our guys are learning and growing more than I had even expected. (The problem was the two weeks he was home he was trying to teach his 16 year old brother all the holds and special moves! YIKES!! That's the LAST thing he needed!!)

thanks again!

Seebees do so much for all branches of the military. They are builders, construction workers, engineers. They build the bases for the Army and Marines, airports, hospitals, they also defend the base, do convoys bringing in materials and such,
