GET THEM BACK TO BASE ON TIME!
I'm good friends with a gal in PIR 7/23 and we talked for about an hour on the phone yesterday. She told me that the lines back to the base on Saturday night were very long - and her new sailor was worried about getting back late to RTC (which means they could lose their liberty on Sunday). So she got out of the line and passed the entrance so he could jump out and get to his barrack. Some guys were late because of this and they lost their liberty - and couldn't even call their families to tell them why they were not standing out front to be picked up!!!! ALWAYS plan to be back at least 1 hr before they are due!!!!!! You can always sit in the parking lot near the NEX/Chapel and talk, but at least you are there and they won't be late.

JOSHUAKEITH and Sue, Email is a mixed blessing as it helps us stay connected but there isn't the "face to face" and direct dialogue. All of us support and love our recruits (soon to be sailors) and their families, we are a "navy family" Whenever in doubt when reading something always remember the bottom line, "we all care" And, I hope I didn't write something to upset anyone, because N4M is the best thing that has happened to me and I appreciate everyone on the site. Keep the prayers and support out there for the last week of boot camp for all our recruits. Look forward to PIR 7/30 and hopefully meeting each other. Momce

With BS21's happening and PIR of 7/30 right ahead of us, who isn't stressed? OMG !! We are all one Big Navy Family and we all support, encourage and love every single recruit and their families. Lets keep the good thoughts & prayers out there as our recruits finish their last week of boot camp. Also, with regard to recruits with illness, injuries, etc..we all are concerned for their health and safety, and, we know they are "keeping things to themselves" as not to cause further worry and we are all in this together, we got to "hang in there". Wishing all "good health" and "safe travels" for families as we head out to see "our sailors". Momce

Wouldn't it be great if we could all take a "chill pill" and relax? I have started my to do list and it's now a mile long, coca-cola and chocolate works for me but I'm trying not to indulge. I work 2 jobs, a regular day job and a fun job at nite, I'm totally stressed out, just hoping the days fly and we're on the road to Great Lakes, before I forget I want to say thank you to all tha Navy moms/families that have helped through this journey, safe trip to all of you and see you at the meet and greet.

Vic28. Since you live there....what places do you recommend to see/do/eat? We will be there for several days. Navy Pier and Gurnee Mall are on the list.

That's quite alright it has been an emotional roller coaster ride and sometimes it seems like he will never graduate given the extra 3 weeks we weren't anticipating. I knew it would be hard for him to fit into a different division after being with the other division for so long. Everyone is very emotional and excited right now. hope to see you at graduation and congrats ahead of time.

Let me take a moment to clarify my comments and I hope you didn't take offense to it. Yes, I was referring to you. I was telling my son how we are on N4M's sharing info but being as though we don't know recruits/moms real or full names, I simply asked my son if he knew of anyone who was sick and just joined his division and that his mom was on the site too. He stated with excitement " Yes!, He sleeps right next to me" he went on to tell me how no one wants to report their injuries so they can keep up with the division. In addition, My son refers to himself as the "shoeshine king" b/c he does such a good job at it. I hope my comments weren't taken out of context, which can often happen when typing with little detail.

Sorry I was just responding to what time people could expect phone calls to come in after BS21.
Ship 10 DIV 254 went on Wed-Thursday of last week. (22-23) and his call to me (after the girlfriend LOL) was just before 2. So stay near the phone guys and gals.. My Husband and my brother missed their calls and they are seriously upset with themselves. Especially my brother who saw the phone call come across his cell but he did not pick it up because he did not recognize the phone number.... :-(
Good luck to everyone out there!
So close now......
I will send a official weather update soon.( I work about 5 minutes from the navy base.) But so far Friday is forcasted to be Mid 80s and beautiful..
The whole week is mid 80s, 90s tomorrow with some clouds and rain drops here and there...
Safe travels to everyone!
