I was so excited to get home from work tonight and find a letter from my son! He sounds really good! All the PT is getting him in to even better shape than he was in when he left for BC. Sounds like their division does something called Dive Motivation PT every morning starting at 5am. Not exactly sure what all that entails, but I'm sure it's intense. He said the food is really good. I'm sure they're all working up quite an appetite everyday! He mentioned they have something called 'holiday routine' on Sunday's where they have free time between 7am-1pm. I'm sure they cherish that time to just relax and get a chance to write to family and friends.
Can't wait until Juy 30th! Looking forward to meeting all of you too at the meet & greet. We have our reservations confirmed at the Ramada!

Deena, I talked to my husband today too and he also had to have his wisdom teeth pulled! Poor babies!! Mine also said that they don't sleep much :(

Got my first phone call from my son today, only lasted about 7 minutes because we got disconnected. He called my cell phone and unfortunately I was at work and had to answer the phone there and while I was handling that we got cut off. But he is doing great and he was able to then call his girlfriend and the two of us compared phones calls afterward. She was as excited as I was. Neither one of us recognized his voice at first. Feel so much better now, and he told me not to be surprised if letters come slowly, getting mail out has been a problem with his division. Only 5 weeks to go, hope they fly by.

cath & jaz.. glad to hear i'm not the only one from our division that didn't get a letter. i was really bummed when the mailman just handed me a bunch of junk (and my little brother's college acceptance letter (= ) but maybe tomorrow, maybe next week. i need to find something to distract me while i wait.

a friend who is in school in virginia told me that they won't get our mail until they switch ships, which i'm not totally sure what that means, but at some point in basic they go "across the street" and that's when they get their mail... I feel bad, my boyfriend will have about 20 at least waiting for him! maybe that's a good thing though.

Wanted to share my news. We received our first call from my son today. I was actually really shocked that he was able to talk for about 15 minutes. He seems good. Mentioned that he is starting to get the nasty cold that they all get. He also got 3 wisdom teeth pulled last Friday. He mentioned how exhausted they are and how little sleep they get, but that he really has some great guys in his Division.I feel so much better hearing from him. I think this is what we all need. Just to hear their voices. I hope everyone gets a call soon. I just wanted to mention how much I enjoy reading everyones comments. I sp
end about 30 minutes everynight just reading and learning! So thanks to all.

Good for you mamacat!!! How great that you got that letter! I'm glad to hear his div is working so well together, hopefully my husband's will get the idea soon. PIR isn't that far away!! YAY!!

No news is good news. I have to keep saying that because no mail today. I think he was one of the last ones to fill his div so maybe he had to play catch up before getting to writing.

CurtsMom, don't you have a family member, friend, neighbor, that can check your mail and maybe read his letter to you...I think I would die if I had to wait another 5 days to know how my son was doing. I am sure you have already thought of that, but maybe think outside the box...there has to be a way. Maybe some one could scan them to you and you could read them for yourself. I hope you get to read your letter soon!

I even left work early today when I found out I had a letter- I had to tell my boss I wont make it a habit every week..lol! but I was dieing to know how he was doing.

Same for my husband...exactly 3 weeks. He said that they had phone calls scheduled today, so hopefully everyone will get their turn...stay by the phone!!!
