HI all, My daughters PIR is the 23rd ONE week whoo hoo lol. I can't wait to see her. I am the one making ribbons for our PIR group and I have extra supplies. If anyone is interested in a ribbon go to the Boot Camp group and look for a discussion on Ribbons. There are pics too. With the glitter letters costing as much as 4 or 5 bucks a pack, and anchors, ribbon, stars, music notes etc it can cost close to $20 to make one ribbon. Of course you can make 3 or sometimes 4 out of the same pack of letters. It really depends on the letters in the name and especially the division numbers. I seem to run out of 4's a lot lol. So if anyone would like to get one without the hassle, let me know. Thanks, aren't you glad this time is passing so quickly?

just wondering if anyone in ship 12 div 260 has any updates about anything?! Did anyone get a phone call on Monday? I might have, but im not sure because i MISSED the call! Im pretty sure it was though because when I tried to call back it said the number had been disconnected (which is what happened when my roommates boyfriend called her from bc and she also missed the call). You would think I would have learned from her mistake haha I feel awful that I missed the call, but I had been moving to a new apt and cleaning the old one...ahhh! anyways, so any new info would be greatly appreciated. Hope you are all doing well...only 15 more days!!!!!

Hi all, I'm getting as anxious as everyone else, I finally got 2 letters yesterday, I was so happy! Callie's Div. had weapon traing last week, that sounded quite interesting, she is ready to graduate, sounds like things are pulling together for the division. I would like to volunteer to make the ribbons for the meet and greet, I was also thinking of making a sign for our groups ship and division, what do you think families of ship 10 division 256. if you need someone, I am pretty crafty but I would need last name and division asap if you'd like me to make them and also how many, I'm close to a Michael's store and a Hobby Lobby, let me know if anyone wants these? Take care all and can't wait to meet you.

I got a letter Turesday that broke down the coming events for his week. Fire fighting, gas chamber, and BS21 on the 22nd. He said he would get to make a phone call on Tuesday so I am assuming that would be the Tuesday following BS21.. sooo the 27th? hmmm I guess my life will be glued to the phone Tuesday ha ha ha...
As far as rate??? You have me there. My son made this decision himself and everything I have learned about the Navy I have learned from Sobe and this site, and I only found the web site on accident from the Great Lakes Face Book page... whew!
Another recruit's Mom (Shapidr) has a son going to Pensacola too and she got the same info about the 3AM depart on SAT. according to his note he and my son begin A- School a week apart but leave at the same time? I can only guess that they would all go together to make processing etc.. ticketing.. smoother?
I am not taking anything I hear or read as carved in stone. I will wait until I get it from the horses mouth at graduation but I will be ready!
Really looking forward to meeting everyone and congratulating you all on our awesome sons and daughters and husbands and wives and girlfriends and boyfriends!

Wolf Grrl, I got a letter Monday but he wrote on 7/6 & 7/7. Nothing else this week. Don't know about the girlfriend. I called her on Monday and she said he had gotten a letter, but didn't say anything.

CurtsMom,
Thanks so much for taking care of getting the meet-n-greet event on the calendar.

I think the ribbon idea is fine. We just need to agree on specifics. I think we should keep it simple. We also need to have some way to quickly make extra for those who have not been on this site, but might want to be included upon arrival at the hotel.

As for pressure, I teach. We start school the first week in Aug. I have to go and get my room ready before I leave. We have an Open House the evening we get back from PIR. Today my sister had surgery. Tomorrow my dad is having surgery. Nothing serious - just lots of sitting around at hospitals. We are trying to get all doctor's appt.s, dental appt.s, etc. taken care of before going back. It does seem that there is a lot to do before we go.
