Wendy, do you know what your son will be doing on the sub? My son too will be on a sub. He will be a fire control technician.

Hello Ladies and Gspengleri! I had to go out of town unexpectedly on Friday, so I have missed out on all of your support. Oh how I needed this computer!
Ms Michigan, Wendy and Jordansmom welcome, we have an awesome group of people here!
First off, Dildraa and Navyblumom, keeping your sons medical issues in my prayers and hope everything gets better and turns out ok.

Dildraa, I am glad you finally got to make it home, too bad you had to go back to work after all that time there. Hopefully you will get a letter today.

Denise, many congrats to your hubby for passing his swim test and hope and pray that everyone else taking it passed also.

Monica, the letters from the children are so touching. Its nice to see that the minds of children these days are still touched with hope and love.

Everyone- its nice to be back, I missed all of you! 17 days left to PIR!!!!

take heart that more than likely they are just asessing the liability issue. Worst case scenerio he might have to change his rate if his hearing is an issue with his job. I know it's easy to sit on this side of the fence and say don't worry... So I'll just say I'd be worried too if it was my loved one. I'm sure if it's something major they will let him call you. Now of course that's the hard part... the not knowing... even if it's the phone call you don't get that's a good one ;-) Keep your chin up Navy mom, he's almost a sailor now.

navyblumom, sorry about your son. Hopefully the MRI goes well. Did he say how much they took for uniforms? Kind of funny the military. They make you pay for your initial set of uniforms, then they give you money every year on your anniversary to get new ones!!

navyblumom~ We're here for you! I'll keep you and your son in my prayers. Hopefully all will be well. Will he be able to call you once the MRI is complete?

If you want a good weather website go to http://www.noaa.gov/ You can type in either a city name or zip code and get the info you need. I use this site more than local news weather because it seems to be more accurate.

Hello !! Hope you are all doing well!! We are on the countdown now - 17 days!! I wanted to share the link above with you. My cousin sent it to me as I am a very big Andrea Bocelli fan - so I listened to Andrea and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing the Lord's Prayer. I then noticed that there were additional links below the Andrea link and I saw "The Soldier's song". It is a very sweet song that was wrote by a music teacher and sung by her third graders. I thought you all might like it as much as I do. (PS - just 17 more days!!)
