Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

navyblueeyes, thanks for the info! Monica, I think at this point if the boys got ice cream, they didnt care if they had to work out for it. That means they did something good to get the icecream right? I am hoping my son did well on the shooting, as he has handled a gun most of his life. One of our favorite things to do was go shoot skeet. He usually won! I still worry about all of his academic tests. He never did like to study but said he has passed up on writing time so he could study. I was thinking arent there 7 divisions with this PIR? That would mean 2 divisions on monday night for BS. 2 on tuesday nite and 3 divisions on wednesday nite. Our guys are going to be so tired!!!

Angel - looking good! I put some stars and such on ours well!!! They do end up being a little long but so what!!!! (On my husbands - I put "Proud DAD" - when I showed it to him, I thought he was going to cry!!- He then asked me if I was going to put "Gushing Mom" on mine - haha! I told him no - I was going to put Crazy Nutcase on mine- :) )

holy smokes, I had a lot to catch up on! just marking my spot. doing a lot of driving around today, my mom hates driving around in snow and I don't mind! Hope everyones day is going good.

Monica - I used 7/8 ribbon also ..couldn't find navy blue either, so I got rotal blue... You might try Walmart - they have fabric and arts and craft stuff...

keljacmom - You said you got the division shirts, can you post a pic? I know I read somewhere in the 200 pages here that you ordered them. Can you only get them that way or can you get them at PIR time? and I think you posted the price too, but can't find it... can ya tell me again please..... can ya tell i'm pooped after shopping all day with my daughter - but we did find her a coat - in fact 2 !! Now to find some boots - ugh!
I also bought myself a new suitcase ! NOW I'm ready to start packing...guess I'll pack my son's "stuff" first :) - - this anticipation is killing me!!!!
