Regina, I too found the same set of embellishments and used some of those on my ribbon. Just too cool to pass up.

Gman, do you plan on doing alot of sightseeing with your wife? Would it be feasible to bring the dogs if you are planning on sightseeing? My personal opinion is to leave the dogs at home and wait til you get to florida. They dont like the cold anymore than you do, and their poor little feet.......and the extra cost, and then having to leave them alone for periods of time in a strange place..It seems to me like it would stress the dogs out.
Sorry to hear about your grandma. Saying prayers for her.

OZMom... kinda suiting for ya- and short

G-man - If I could I would bring our dog! But we are flying so it is really cost prohibitive. My opinion - if it will bring happiness to your wife - then do it! But only you can make the judgement call if you can afford it or handle the task of doggie care during your stay......( big question - would your doggie be okay in a hotel room - or will it freak her / him out?)

Guess it would just depend on how bad you think she wants to see her dog.

keljacmom - I was ust getting ready to ask if you knew when 805 would be doing BS21? I keep hoping for a letter ...but realize that I may have already gotten my last one... :( ... Oh well, I'll keep stalking the mailman anyway! LOL

Pretty soon, we'll be getting calls and emails instead of these letter that I already hang on to and read over and over again. There's something very special about a handwritten letter vice an email or text.....even though right now I'd settle for a simple "shout out!"...

Great prayer keljacmom!

I have a question for everybody. My wife misses her dogs terribly and I want to bring them. The catch is that I want to stay close to the base so I don't waste time in traffic while there and the hotels that are close charge a fee for pets, $50.

My question is, would you guys bring a pet for a loved one if you know that it would make them happy? I am torn on what I should do. I don't want to waste the money in case she does in fact leave right away. I could use the money for gas to go see her in Florida. Hmmm, what to do, plus if I take a dog I have an extra thing to worry about and take out and feed while in Chicago.

keljacmom Ship 4 Div 805, thanks for the wishes. G-ma is still around, I guess the old lady doesn't want to leave yet. My mom called and said they took her off dialysis last night and they said she would pass over night. Not so, she has a pacemaker and that is now keeping her alive. She didn't want to be kept alive and now the machine she had put in will keep her around a little more I guess. I don't know how long but my mom sounded more upbeat, so we'll see how long that lasts. She is on morphine for the pain because she is in a lot of pain from loosing so much weight.

Since I am not a dr. or nurse I don't know how long this is going to take. I just hate to hear that she is in pain, but I know that morphine will help alleviate the pain a little.

I'm so frustrated with the letters we are getting. Not much info about what he's doing but he mentions how much he writes his girlfriend. If we want to know something we have to ask her. Derrick is in Ship 4 Div 805 so if anybody can give me a heads up on what's going on I would appreciate it. I try to keep up with everybody's comments but unless I take notes, I forget who's doing what. By the way, I found some Navy 2-D stickers in the scrapbook section at Michaels. There is a sailor saluting, Navy symbol, battleship, etc. I got them to decorate Derrick's going away cake but would look great on the ribbons ya'll are making.
