PS - By "this group" I mean the recruits!!! But that doesn't mean we can't do the same thing!!

GOOD MORNING!!!!
The countdown continues......cannot wait to see those single digits.
NAVYBLUEEYES - I am an early riser as well ( east coast girl living on the west coast ) but today, hubby gave me a kiss before he left for work and said don't get up - go back to slrrp - so I did!!! woo - hoo, extra sleeep felt good.
Regarding luggage and carry ons - I alwys travel like I am going somehwere special ( you sort of dressed up -no sweat pants on the plane for rme) but in my carry on is essential make up stuff and a clean pair of panties!!! (I do have my priorities!!!!) Now that might TMI but even in those times that the airlines has lost my luggage - I am always ready for anything!! ( Oh yeah - BTW - NEVER pack your jewelry - ALWAYS carry it on)
ANGEL - excellent quote - thanks for sharing. I had said earlier that our son has been sharing the letters we send to him with his bunkmates. His dad always includes a quote or two and relates them to something he is trying to say to him. Usually it has been a serious quote and then a humorous one but always meaningful.
When speaking with my son yesterday - he told me that someone (can't remember who) is putting together a Facebook site so that this group can stay in touch going forward (he did not distinguish if just division or not) so I do think these guys ( at least some) have really bonded. I did get the sense from our conversation that while there were a few guys who were still not getting it together there is a group that are tight. (Note - when I say guys - that is inclusive - menaing gals too!! jeasier to write just "guys")
Today - going to MIchael's, get my supplies for my ribbon. Told my son about it and he was very touched - thought it was great! And also today - i need to get off the computer and clean my house......well, maybe not!!! Housecleaning is way over-rated, I hear!!
Love to all!!!

Good morning all!!! Hope everyone had a good valentines day, (even the ones who didnt get phone calls) Navyblueeyes, you have made me paranoid- can you imagine if you have to go clothes shopping at the last minute because the airlines lost your stuff? OMG more to worry about!
10 days til PIR!!!!!!

Angel, that quote is so fitting!
Courtney and navyblumom, I bet it is nice knowing that your guys have each other and actually like each other!

navybluemom- my hubby is staying in GL for A school and is in the AECF, I wonder if he was talking about him :)
I got my 41 minute call today and loved that it was on Valentine's Day. Again, he sounded very upbeat and can't wait for us to come out. He said he probably won't get to call again until the "I'm a sailor call", but I was very satisfied with today's call :) I was bragging that it was 80 degrees here in S. California, and he said he was sweating in the phone bank b/c he had a parka on, lol.. at least he wasn't freezing. :) He also mentioned how proud he was of me for learning more about the Navy and knowing the lingo ( before he left I didn't know anything) and i definitely gave credit to this website and all of you. I told him that I have already made friends! :) Overall, a very happy call and very good day today. I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day!

guess I will have to let my sons girlfriend know not to be overly dramatic, which at times she can be. I dont blame her, they have spent the last 5 years in different states and only gotten to see each other on spring/summer/christmas breaks. Amazing for a 16 and 19 year old and still actually be together. But they have grown up together since they were very little and then we moved away. They havent gotten to see each other since this past summer. She is so anxious, she may forget!

Hooray Navyblumom!!!!!! so glad you heard form your guy!
BTW - when speaking with my son he mentioned that Div 105 is his brother division (means they are in the same bunk compartment).
