I like the idea of a blue ribbon! - you know in the shape that all the ribbons are being worn these days! Should it be NAVY Blue????? Maybe with our division on it??
BTW - I am not staying at the ramada - I am staying at the Homewood Suites. ( I think there is another debbie - lower case "d" - on our site who maybe staying at the ramada)

lol ill print out extras!!
from another moms sons:
The division: children. everyone here needs to be told things at least thrice in order for it to last more than a minute. children are sleeping all around me in their little cradles praying mommy will clean up after them and wipe their ass. 24 year old males acting like they are 13 at best. one of them, our laundry p.o., is only 20 but acts like a freshman. he's got his little possy of misfits and does stupid shit all the time

Bittersweetmomma, I am feeling ya girl! I got the Im here call, and then the call that he finally got to talk on was only 5 minutes! 5minutes! I saw how other recruits got to talk for 30 minutes or so, some for an hour! I was happy for the 5 minutes believe me, but we sure didnt get to cover enough bases. My sons letters havent been down but most of them are full of aggravation at his division that cant seem to get along. I understand that funk! Just wish it would hurry up and be the 26th! Cant wait for those parking passes... something that will be a little more realistic that we are getting close!

Barbarajean, I agree about us all being able to meet on the shuttle, but what about the ones who arent staying at the ramada? hmmmm. I also figure that it wont be too sore, I was up and moving around after the 4th day when I had the surgery the first time, so It shouldnt be as bad as that right? I will be leaving 5 days after this surgery... Thank goodness I have a 225 lb son coming with me to help carry everything, and my mom to help drive!!

Debbie- what about a blue ribbon like the breast cancer ribbons?

Good morning everyone! looks like you all have been so busy posting! took me twenty minutes to read older posts and catch up!
Colleen, my son said that 915 is still having a hard time doing anything together. He said he hasnt tried to make friends in the division because he "isnt here to make friends". I am going to have to write him and get the scolding going on. He needs to become friends so that they can all work together! I may have to shed a different light on his thoughts, but hate to have to be "bossy mom" and tell him what he needs to do when he has everyone else yelling at him. He said their division has yet to win a flag because none of them can get along or the ones that do horseplay too much.
Hey Dildraa it is my understanding that they have to be face down and float for 5 minutes, but they can still raise their head and get a breath. It would be impossible to hold their breath that long!
My dr update- surgery on the 18th. Floppy Sue will have a resurrection! I am hoping I wont be too sore at PIR, but I dont have much of a choice, Dr said it has to be done asap before scarring occurs. I am thanking God that the insurance is covering all but 586.00 of the surgery!

Good Morning Ladies & Gspen! Two weeks from today our new sailors will be celebrated! Cannot Wait! you know, this site is the first thing I check in the morning and the last thing I check at night - with our sharing of nformation I feel as if you are friends AND that I am still very connected to my son. Thank you all very much!
NAVYBlue Eyes - I'm with you - tissues & parking pass, here we come!
ALL - I am so sorry that I will not make it to the meet and greet at the Ramada as my flight does not get into O'Hare until 8pm. How will I know who you all are on Friday???? I know some of us have posted pics but I know on that morning I will have a hard time thinking and being able to link your pic to you webname will be impossible! Are there others in the same situation as me? I am thinking of wearing something (flower, pin etc) so that you will know that I am part of this group so that we do not hesitate to say Hello!
Any thoughts?
