I hear ya on that one! I used to drive from Panama City to Odessa texas on about 18 hours straight, now, Im doing good to make the 13 hour trip to Dallas in one day! The things we did when we were younger! Now I have to let my sons help me drive- Guess he will be doing all of the visiting home instead... just getting too old to keep on that way

Va Beach is about 900 miles from Pensacola. It's a long car ride, that's for sure. I used to do it one day, now it takes two....

Courtney- congrats on him making a section leader. Sorry about the pay problem, as that will even be after PIR, so I guess you could be pretty bummed about that. Count your blessings that its only two and a half weeks away instead of another month

Dreams- Va Beach is also one of the places they told my son he could get shipped to after school. How far is that from Pensacola?

I got 2 letters on Monday and a phone call yesterday. He was made a section leader and says the biggest perk is getting to go to chow first. He will be right behind the flag holders for graduation. Also, he mentioned that they got a ton of snow late monday night and now the ground is covered. He was able to call me to let me know he fixed our bank mishap ( why we didn't get paid on the 1st) We will not receive a whole paycheck until 3-1 boo! Other than that, he sounds great and is getting through this busy week so far.

LOL bittersweetmomma love the reference as thats what I have been calling it all day long. I did talk to my dr and he said no, its not dangerous because they are saline, but funny thing is I taste salt water in my mouth! It actually gave me something funny to write to my son about. Its not funny, but it really is hilarious. I can imagine my son laughing his butt off about my flat tire- He encouraged me to get them 5 years ago and helped take care of me when I came out of surgery so I know he will be a little concerned until I get it taken care of- meanwhile I bought new socks to go with my floppy lol

Alabama is right next to FL, so depending upon whether he's north or west of Pensacola, it could be 30 mins to 1.5 hours....

crystaldj - I hear ya! I'm in Va Beach, but the beaches here are nothing compared to the gulf coast!

Mobile Alabama is only about 45 minutes from Pensacola if I remember correctly
