Looking for some advise....Can anyone give me some kind of idea when that phone call that they passed is made? PIR is Oct 5th.  Hotel reservations I made have to be canceled by Oct 1st. If for some reason she doesn't pass I'm wondering if I will have enough time to cancel or change them.

My daughter called while I was on the plane to Chicago!

"Thanks-will definitely go with plan B then!

If she's been doing pretty well so far and feels her division works well together, she should pass BS-21!  Keep her division in your prayers that whole last week!  My son called on Wednesday,I think, and his PIR was Friday, 10-21-11!

Thank you Sheila. I think I will have a back up plan just in case. What is BS-21 though?

That call can be on any weekday (F, M-Th) beginning on the day of the previous week's PIR (for you 09/28/2012) to the day before your Sailor's PIR.  Has she indicated that she is having a problem with part of the PFA?  If not, don't worry.  If she is having a problem, she is receiving assistance to get her to the point that she will pass.

BS-21 is Battle Stations-21 and is the final test before your daughter will become a US Navy Sailor.  Sometime in the afternoon or evening (2ish to 8ish Central time) after she passes BS-21, you will receive the "I'm a Sailor!" call.

Thanks, she has not mentioned any problem so far but has had medical issue in the past which she was cleared for. Just hoping there's no flare-up that holds her back I guess. And all that memorizing...Not sure she (or maybe more like myself not her) was prepared for that.  Good to hear they help them though.  But she's a strong minded girl and I need to just stop worrying huh?  Is there a place to read more about BS-21?

There should be something within your PIR group about it, but I didn't see it when I looked.  Here is what I posted last year in one of the groups I helped with, Battle Stations-21 (clickable link); I hope it helps.

I HAVENT RECIEVED MY  I M A SAILOR CALL YET,IM LEAVING TOMMORROW TO THE PIR  GRADUATION

There's still time today.  I didn't see what division your soon-to-be Sailor (probably already a Sailor) is in, but Divisions 315, 316, 819 and 820 should be calling today.  Calls can come as late as 8ish Central Time tonight.  I think that is the last of those going through on time.
