For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by joel's_rackie on May 25, 2011 at 5:03pm: It has been two weeks since my SR left for BC. My husband called me in O'Hare while waiting for the bus to take them to GL. After that I missed the official "I'm here" call . A week later received his box with his clothes,shoes and a small note on the back of a McDonald's receipt. This last Sunday, day 10 i got a call from him and we talked for 5-6 minutes. He informed me that it took a while before his division filled in. He sounds good and excited. His PIR is 07/08. I got tons of letters for him ready to be mailed and i asked him for his address, he instructed me to wait for his form letter which I don't have yet.

Anyway I've been bugging the recruiter almost every day for Joel's address, he finally called yesterday. I'm sending a trial letter now just because I don't want him not to have any letters from me while the other SR's start to received theirs.

Almost forgot...there will be other discussions about PIR etc. Have a look at those too. Plus there are "veteran" moms, etc on every site to help with questions. Look back through old posts too!

When you get there you will be at the main group page. You can read and post there to talk with everyone in your TG-training group.

Scroll down to Discussion Forum and click View all. Join the discussion for your Div - "ship7 div 193". Here you can connect up with the other familyies that are in your SR Division!
