Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Wonderful news Ellen!  Happy Birthday!   Let us know what he says about how cold it was!!!!    281 was lucky with warmer weather,   did they have to walk out on the ice til they dropped in like in the utube video?

a mother - there are NAVY scrapbooks you can buy, and I have photos from when he was sworn in, and documents, and PIR graduation , navy pier, etc.. Seal brochures, photos off of the seal/swcc website that I printed of Surf Passage, BUDS, etc... copies of BUDS graduation certificate. that kind of stuff!

Great to know all is progressin with this great class my son began with months ago. On his class page, we have all been posting Christmas ideas. One great one I had listed from an older friend who has had some deployments was a set of great noise cancelling headphones. He said they come in very handy on noisy military flighs when sleep is so necessary. Boise, of course, makes a great set that are very compact and great battery life but rather pricey. The other things are compact knife sharpner (REI), and food gift cards.... would love more suggestions....

No clue what to buy, I don't know what to get for Christmas yet, so first things first! I will be putting together a scrapbook for him, though.

Happy thanksgiving weekend! go huskers today! 281 is back in SAN for the weekend. Praise be to God, and God bless America. We all have a lot to be thankful for!
