Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I think it would be great to have a place to post requests, answers, or just general prayers for Class 281 or any pre-bud family. Everyone is Welcome!

ellen - you have a great attitude! he will be back to 100 % by the time 283 starts, which is when? we will keep his continued healing in our prayers. When does 282 start? too soon for him to recover fully?

Public school calls it "Spring Break," you know, like you can't mention anything to do with "religion." On those same lines, does anyone know if they offer religious services at bases other than GL? There, they had denominational choices, and I'm pretty sure they still have a chapel on ships, but not sure what's up at the bases.

No clue, but I'd assume just the regular weekend.

Thank YOU Stewmom for sharing that. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, knit together in our mothers womb, the cross shape doesn't surprise me, but does amaze me!

I had no idea about the lack of jobs available for our guys. All I can say is... THAT STINKS! As big as the Navy is, you'd think there would always be openings, especially for the ultra - committed and driven as your sons have proven they are. I wonder what they are offering new recruits for boot camp as their sign-up contract? You'd think they'd be offereing it to your sons first! My mind boggles at the enormacy of the military, and how it works or doesnt work!

Welcome truenorth! I , too, just sat and read for a long time, back in boot camp, before I started talking. It was the brown recluse at pre-buds that made me add my two cents worth! I understand how HW could prompt you to visit us, and am glad you are sharing. This site has given support to me in ways I never imagined, information and hearing about other men's phone calls home makes me feel closer to my son also. we can share our feelings with others who feel the same way and ask questions of grandpa and grandma. what more could you ask for? welcome
