A Place for Prayers

I think it would be great to have a place to post requests, answers, or just general prayers for Class 281 or any pre-bud family. Everyone is Welcome!

10:00AM PST Lord God, grant each young man exactly what he needs for the next task at hand. Protect them from anything that would come against their success and your will. Comfort their families today, give them peace during the storm.

I awoke at 3:55 am this morning and groaned that it wasn't 7am already, I'm just so anxious for the week to be over. I, too, felt a pit in my stomach and my mind was immediately on our men. I imagined all of you out there with me in the same ibs (boat) :) , and it helped. I resisted the overwhelming urge to get up and come to this website, so I got up, lit a candle in the middle of the dining room table that will burn continuously until they are secure on Friday. (the biggest percentage in history, I'm sure) .Everytime I see it, a prayer will be sent for all of 281 for endurance and strength, no illness/injury, and for all of the mothers out there who will have upset stomachs all week. no news is good news. It's hard not to keep checking my cell phone for texts. Have a good day ladies, talk to you tonight.

Don't know why but I just had to watch the youtube video of class 234 Hellweek one more time. They had one strong statment and that was that "Individuals don't survive, teams do"... Let's remember to pray for the teamwork, swim buddies and also our guys! Almost sunrise out there! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFAXMNfsNJw

6:30 on the East Coast...
Dear Father, I praise your name right now and give thanks for the journey ahead. I know that you are with our guys right now. Light the night sky with stars shining from your Heavens and warm their hearts and bodies as the night air is around them. I pray for the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wholeness of each member of class 281. Keep their minds focused on the minute at hand. Your words in Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" offer me peace for my son , Class 281 and all the families as we go this journey. I thank you also, that I am not alone at any moment knowing that you are with me and all the families of these terrific guys. In this Lord, we pray to you, Amen.

My son had a few words to say about the men at Coronado, and something that stuck with me is that they are "larger than life." He said that for a time he "walked with Titans." Your sons are on their way to being such men.

Moms, and others, I think we should focus this week on supporting each other and positive thoughts. We don't know what they are doing at any time of the week because they change it everytime to acheive the element of surprise. I too have read all and watched all and find it helpful in understanding their current undertaking, however, let's play it safe and not mention any specifics at all. We never know who may read a post and take it back to those in charge to make a point with our guys. I want a place to be honest about my prayers, emotions, fears and anxiety this week. If you have specific news from someone, pm everyone or leave a messae for them to contact you.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the son you have placed in my care. I praise you and thank you for your Word and Promies. My prayer to you right now is for calm nerves, laughter while waiting, and a clear head when the fireworks begin for mine and all the other guys in class 281. Thank you for the time they have had to rest their bodies and prepare themselves mentally. Father, I also ask for a respite in the rain and cool weather. Warm their bodies during the night, and keep them focused. Amen

For a distraction this week, check out this organization, it looks very interesting. It is a fund-raising thing, but it's for Special Operations.

Good Morning ladies, I woke early this morning thinking of you and the boys. For some who don't know me, my son was in BC with many here, went to pre-buds, then took another path, but my heart is with you here today. While "my B" was in pre-buds I followed 280 through hw and it made a deep impression on me. I will never forget it. At that time, anticipating hw for this group, I started "A Place for Prayers" because I saw what an important part it played for 280.

IF you feel comfortable doing it, I would like to have a name (doesn't have to be a correct one, or just an initial) to hold up in prayer during the week. Most are already "my friends" for PM. If you send it, that's fine, if you don't that's fine too. I will delete the message from my inbox afterward. Of course if you know i already know it, then I remember. I find that having a name to lift in prayer is very powerful. Of course, those whose moms are not on here will also be lifted up.

You'll probably see me a lot this week. To all of you and your brave sons, HOOYAH!!
