A Place for Prayers

Started by Tee-1sailor's mom. Last reply by Tee-1sailor's mom Mar 8, 2010. 55 Replies

I think it would be great to have a place to post requests, answers, or just general prayers for Class 281 or any pre-bud family. Everyone is Welcome!

Thanks Ray Ray. A little back ground on the "A Place for Prayers." While B was in pre-buds I was following BUDS 280 and I saw how many prayers were offered up. When this Class started, I thought it would be a place separate from the comment thread to add prayers with a little more privacy, but still there for everyone to share. It's also a record of the progress of the class as it moves through the evolutions. I hope that going there and reading what others have written will up lift and encourage those here. The prayers also don't get "lost" in the long comment thread. Of course I didn't mean it to preclude prayers offered in the comment area if someone wants to that too!!

ellen - good to hear he is doing so well, and is in such good spirits! Those Oars are dangerous, I heard one almost chipped a tooth also! close calls everywhere. Tto quote the crocodile hunter: danger, danger, danger!

a quote from Elizabeth Berg's book: Home Safe
"It seems to her that life is like gathering berries into an apron with a hole. Why do we keep on? Because the berries are beautiful, and we must eat to survive. We catch what we can and we walk past what we lose for the promise of more, just ahead." Prayers for peace and hope in all our hearts.

The tears are flowing down my cheeks as I read todays posts.
Moosemom - We are all proud of your son, and am so sorry about the abrupt change in plans for him. Your quotes touched me, and I copied them into my "special" journal for future use. Your sharing touches us, and I thank you for your openness. Please let us know what he decides to do, and how you are. Please help me by telling me what the phrase "matter of course and prescriptive right" means? I'd like to understand it better.

Mastercheif: Tears are flowing even harder as I empathize with your son's dissapointment and confusion. When things happen that are out of our control, it is so hard to understand. Know my heart aches with yours. My son tore his ACL at the beginning of his high school freshman promising wrestling career, while I watched, and he had to leave the team, and never returned. Dissapointment on many levels. socially, physically, mentally. Of course, over time, he found other outlets that he enjoyed, as we are sure your son will also. please let us know, as we also are invested in his career and his spirit. You are important to us, always a great support and encourager. thank you. my son called last night and said the boats caused lots of injuries to alot of people, and chaffing and cuts are the norm. prayers for everyone. hope we can help.

thanks for the updates and the support guys, I love coming on this site and visiting with all of you, am I the only one who has trouble keeping you all straight? I need to start taking notes ! Haven't heard from my son yet, but hope too this weekend, I'll bet the TGIF phrase never meant so much as it does today! I feel like I'm more connected to him through all of your son's quotes! Annie - thanks for sharing with us, our hearts go out to you and him. Remember - we don't know the future, but we do know who holds it!

my thoughts and prayers are for all our young men. I think the weekend never looked so good for our boys. I'm hoping they all have enough left in them to check in with home over the next few days.

I remember hearing from one mom in a previous class that her son didn't even remember "ringing the bell." He just was on auto pilot and before he knew it, it was over.

(and I believe even Marcus Luttrell got injured and was rolled back.)

There young men are heros and my son was told by a chef that making it TO BUDS make them the top 2% of the entire military!

Ellen, what a connection you have with you son, you are awesome. Ray Ray, momcjj, Rachel, we've been through a lot together, I feel as though we are dear friends and I'm 281's biggest fan. sue, MstrChief, love my b, grandpa, haven't known you as long, but I'll be here through the good and bad.

HOOYAH 281!!!!!!

Thank you everyone!! i am still bummed about my husband making the decision to DOR. After talking to him this morning, he honestly regrets it. I guess the night he broke out in hives, he lacked sleep that he lost all motivation. He felt like he failed on his buddies, that he MENTALLY thought he wasn't set. I guess you can say the lack of sleep was getting to him. After sleeping on it, he really really regrets it and is kicking himself in the butt. He now has to wait until Monday to be reassigned, and wait 1.5 years to try again. I guess you can say that "everything happens for a reason" and i wish the best of luck to everyone! Remember, it's 90% mental, 10% physical!
