OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

So, my boyfriend left for bootcamp today and I feel so lost without him. I feel like no one around me understands what I am going through and I just have no clue how I am going to do this. I hate that I have to go around my normal life minus the one person that I love. I honestly don't know how people do this, and I really don't know if I can.

You can do it, I know that it is hard, but you have to stay strong, we are all here for you and we understand what you are going through we have been or are going through it, hang in there and if you have any questions or anything just ask us.
Alright, Welcome, first off, I am going to be completely blunt. Don't take it harshly, I just don't sugar coat things so you findout later..that it's really not how it is.
Navy Girlfriends/Finances/Wives...it is HELL. You WILL go through hell and back.
You WILL get pissed at the Navy left and right because you can't see him all the time.
You will LIVE for letters and phone calls.
Sound tough? You won't get to see him for months at a time.
You won't get to talk to him all day everyday.
You don't get to ask certain things, you don't get answers to certain things.

It is TOUGH.
It's the type thing that will change your lifestyle.
You have to be willing as a puppy waiting for a bone to get those letters.
You have to be willing to cherish seeing him for 2/3 days every 4-8 months or more in some cases.
Give or take.
You have to be willing to play how the Navy wants to play..
You can't have ANYYYYYY doubts about if he does or doesn't love you, and if you do or don't love him.
You have to be SURE. POSITIVE. This is what you want. This is who you want. And that you're NOT giving up.
It's tough, ask anyone. Not an easy road.
But for those letters you get = priceless.
10 minute phone call = highlight of your month.
Seeing him for 2 days after a long 7 months of deployment = wouldn't trade it.
Is that the type of thing you're willing to live for?
Trust me girl, you have it in you, I can see it. You're in the panic most of us were.
Hang tight.
Know that in a few 2/3 weeks, you're gonna be getting letters weekly,
and I PROMISE. They will make you cry, laugh, and miss him 10x more.
But you'll love every second of it.
Don't doubt yourself, you CAN do it, just gotta stay dedicated.
