Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Lyndsi on July 25, 2011 at 1:19pm: Also, i got my first phone call the same day i received my letters. it was a fantastic day! although I'm not by any means suggesting to be expecting a phone call this week, one will come within the first 4 weeks for sure so make sure you have your phone on you at ALL times. Im not sure about some of the other girls but every time i got one so far it has been from an unknown number :)

Why does it go faster when I'm counting down to my birthday?? haha.... I am SO excited to go in Sept too, I live in FL and it will be nice to get a break from this brutal heat and humidity! I haven't started looking at dresses yet, but I think I do want to dress up! I was deciding between just wearing jeans and a dress.... especially because I get cold easily (but with all the people in the hall I'm sure I won't be that cold!) but I think I want to wear a dress after not seeing him for so long!
