Hi Sara, thanks for the advice. Why would you recommend getting married during A school, not after?

Nicole, thanks for the welcome :) July 29th will be here before you know it.. .I hope this relationship works out for you, it is tough being a military girlfriend especially if it is not the right guy!

Welcome amb! Good to have you here:) My boyfriend has been in basic for a week as of yesterday. He graduates the 29th of july! I haven't received a letter but I've been writing him everyday. He is my 2nd military boyfriend so I know what to expect. The first time it just didn't work. Too short of notice. I've been with mine 4 months as of the 20th of this month and It was much harder this time. Enjoy the time you have together. Trust me. Every last second is cherishable.

amb- can i just say that i recommend getting married during A school. He might not be able to get a brown bagger chit to live off base with you during his schooling, but it doesn't hurt to try!  Welcome to the group

I have less than a month left before my boyfriend leaves for boot and I am torn between wanting to spend as much time with him as possible and enjoying him while he's here and being sad and counting down til he leaves (27 days). I know it is going to be tough and I can not WAIT for it to be over and he hasn't even left yet! I am nervous because I just don't know what to expect after boot camp, his job is STG-AEF so he will be in A & C schools in San Diego for about a year and a half before he gets his first orders, and I will be moving there as well because we plan on getting married after A school. I am so nervous but excited at the same time! I know that you girls know my emotions, it's really great to have found a group like this!

I am SO frustrated! sheesh. getting into military housing is the biggest pain in the butt ever if you aren't on orders. My husband has been in DC for a month now and my son and I are still stuck here living at my mom's.  It's the most annoying thing ever. I'm not liking the Navy very much today. Every time I call somewhere I feel belittled because I'm a wife not a service member. My husband got in a verbal altercation with some of the people in the housing office and now I'm afraid that we are on their "sh*t list" and we'll never get a house. UGH. it's just annoying that I'm still here taking care of the baby while my husband is up in DC living like he's single with minimal responsibilities.

Yeah ive been through it once before. I dated a kid who also when through basic while we were together but when he got out we decided being friends was better. Then I met G and fell in love. Now im doing it all over. With more emotion. Being in love and more pride. This one's gonna work.:)

I always thought it was ridiculous when people told me the time would go by quick, but it really does. It may not feel like time is flying on any particular day, but once you start looking back at how far you've come, it's surprising =)

That's super sweet KatyK. Im only a few hours from GL so letters wont take too long to get here. I should start receiving after a week and a half 2 weeks. Ill start sending when I get his form letter in a week or so. I've already begun writing. I miss him a ton because we spent 3 months straight together and I love him a ton so hopefully graduation comes soooon!

Hi there =) How is everyone doing? My boyfriend's PIR was this past Friday and it was SO great to see him! He left the next day for A school in San Antonio. I think he really likes it there and I love that I get to talk to him on the phone everyday now. It's still really hard not having him here and only spending 8 hours with him after not seeing him for 60 days, but it's great to know that I'm not alone here =) I'm out of school for summer and while that's nice, I'm not really busy so time doesn't go by that fast and I start to over analyze everything lol. @nicole lee: I remember the first few days after my bf left were the hardest, but it did get better. Getting the first letter after about a month really helps, too. I'll never forget the first letter I got from him, it was 18 pages long because he'd written me something every day since he'd gotten there =)
