amanda- yes he can go active pretty much any time he chooses, I'm almost 100% positive of that. but i'll ask my boyfriend tomorrow just to make sure. but I think in order to be approved to go active it'll be recommended that he do an IA (voluntarily go overseas) to show that he's committed to be active.
as far as if you should agree to it, that's a personal choice... I can't really tell you one way or another what's best for you and him. I know for me personally (my boyfriend is active) financially it's pretty much our only option. and with his job active duty isn't so bad... there are a lot of things that factor into it. like what his rate is, where he'll be stationed, if you'll be living with him, if he'll have to get a different contract, if you want to have kids in the near future. things like that are definitely things i'd think about and make sure you have clear answers.
Hey all
I have a question.
My fiance informed me last night me after he completes his 2 years of reserves and after we are married. he wants to go active.
First question: Can he do that? go active after being reserves.
Second: he wants me to think on it. he only would agree to it if i agree it'll be okay with me... would it be a good idea to let him go active?
please someone get back at me with if it is a good idea or not. I want help on it before I tell him it's fine with me or not.
Thank you.
Congrats Corie and Clay's girl!
Happy Valentines day to all. I know some people think its the most imporant day of the year. But honestly no one celebrated it 120 yrs ago. Before that it was a regular day. Your Man should love you everyday and show it everyday. I don't celebrate Vday because he picks up the dog poop, carries in the groceries, takes out the trash and picks me up little gifts all the time (last week it was a cellphone a gorgeous scarf). Those little things everyday mean more to me then a talking teddy bear any day.
