Thanks to the many moms and more that are here and ready to help when a sailor is in need! It is amazing to know that no matter where our sailors travel in the United States there is a mom there ready to rescue them with a hot meal, place to stay, or help to get back on the road!
To be added to the list send me (Susan mom to Niko) a friend request. Then you can send me a private message with your name, location and phone number. Then you are added to the list!

Ok, I like to mke things because I sew, so I would need an address to send my stuff to.
@Marianne, Good ideas. The Ombudsman did not tell her about the "shower" plan so we can surprise her. Maybe it would be fun for her to get some surprises from all over the country. I am totally okay with whatever plan we decide on.
Once we did a shower for a niece by me collecting all the $$ and buying a large gift from all of us for a wedding. For a baby shower I collected the $$ and called the Toys'R'Us where another niece was registered and ordered things off her list and paid for it via credit card and she came to pick all the stuff up. The niece I did the 'across the country' (Mom has 8 bro/sis and Dad has 7 bro/sis) wedding shower for, I did a baby one too -- I collected $$ and I flew out to MN and went shopping with her to help pick items off her wish list.
If the Navy mom is registered somewhere, we could order online individually. Or just mail her items ourselves --- it would be fun for her to be showered with gifts from all across the country.
However you decide, I'll be happy to support.
I ♥ this! Who cares if we know blue or pink, we can go Navy blue and gold! :-) I'm thinking maybe a group video call? Skype does up to 10; Google+ has a private video chat "Hangout" thing, if we're feeling adventurous.
UPDATE! We have approval from the pregnant mom to pass on her name and address. Anyone have ideas about how we want to organize the "shower"? Sex of the baby is unknown. Please send me a friend request and I will PM you the info.
I have not heard anything from any of the NC moms. And I think I will post this on Molly's Adopt A Sailor page also.
Do we get to know the sex of the baby and if she is registered somewhere?
Good morning Moms, I have an update. The Greenville Ombudsman called me this morning. She is going to contact the pregnant sailor's wife and get her permission to share her address. As soon as i hear back, I will share with you all through PM.
@Lisbeth, I would gladly send some baby stuff to you if you would like to organize this. The Ombudsman asked me what a "mail shower" was and she is not going to tell the sailor's wife so we would get to surprise her.
You guys are the best!! It warms my heart every morning when I read my email and see all these posts from people trying to help. I feel like I gained another family when my daughter joined the Navy! So glad to be a part of it!
Pat,
i agree about posting in the NC navy moms, may actually have some in her area
The Ombudsman is gathering information tomorrow and I will let everyone know ASAP.
