Thanks to the many moms and more that are here and ready to help when a sailor is in need! It is amazing to know that no matter where our sailors travel in the United States there is a mom there ready to rescue them with a hot meal, place to stay, or help to get back on the road!

To be added to the list send me (Susan mom to Niko) a friend request. Then you can send me a private message with your name, location and phone number. Then you are added to the list!

There are "drive away" companies that will move a vehicle from one place to another. Useful to have a car moved, or for traveling place to place in a good vehicle with only the gas to pay.

Not a problem Rhonda - as one blonde to another! Don't forget the little "x" at the right of a comment any time you want a 'do-over'! :)

dyeshome... hate to say but it is on him to ship his car... most guys flew home on leave and drive them out... call the local car dealership and ask them for the name of the shipping company they use... when I had a car shipped a couple of years ago it was a couple hundred dollars. They deliver it right to you... although they cannot deliver it on base...

Here is an update from my friend thanks ladies!!

Thank you all very much for all of your help in trying to figure out my son's dilemma of trying to get extension of his leave due to the death of his uncle. The Chief did grant an extension since the red cross was not willing to fax the info to the ship even though the Chief requested it. He told my son to bring all the documentation with him when he comes back. We had to purchase another plane ticket since I did not insure his flight. We received a call a little while ago from the Chief saying that he wasn';t able to get in touch with Wyatt's command so he may need to return on Wednesday evening so if that is the case, we will be purchasing another plane ticket! I am so frustrated right now!!! Too much emotions going on to deal with all this too.

We truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this sad time. I feel like I have been riding on a roller coaster that won't let me get off! I will keep you posted on the outcome of my sailor!

I think it is true that it has to be immediate family. Unless he can get ahold of his Master Chief or the Quarterdeck. And go from there.
