Thanks to the many moms and more that are here and ready to help when a sailor is in need! It is amazing to know that no matter where our sailors travel in the United States there is a mom there ready to rescue them with a hot meal, place to stay, or help to get back on the road!

To be added to the list send me (Susan mom to Niko) a friend request. Then you can send me a private message with your name, location and phone number. Then you are added to the list!

HELP this is a Mom in another group of mine and she needs help/advise in this sad situation.

Happy Mothers Day everyone! I need some advice ASAP....my sailor is to fly out today but his Uncle passed away unexpectedly while sailor was with him. Sailor trying to get extentsion on leave and has finally been able to contact the Chief Officer and was told by him that he could get an extension is he can have Red Cross fax documentation to the ship however Red Cross is saying they aren't able to do that since it's not an immediate family member! Anybody know where to go from here?

Thanks to everyone that is voting! We have pulled up in the standings... the lemur monkey project is still in the top ten... I cannot understand how a lemur monkeys lab rank ahead of our military!

Hope everyone hears from their sailors and has a wonderful Mothers Day!

Susan,

I have been voting everyday and I hope the rest of you guys will too! Opening up my doors in Chicago when sailors need help is one way I am helping out and the other is sending things out to our deployed sailors through Molly's group but shipping gets expensive its like $14 per box. 10 boxes - $140 so I am hoping Molly's group get the funds! Just imagine!

Happy Mother's Day to all!

So quiet here... happy to think that there are not any sailors out there across the states needing our help! Please check out the Molly's adopt a sailor project! We adopt different units of deployed sailors and send them letters, cards and packages! We have applied to the Pepsi refresh project for a grant to help fund the mailing expenses! You can vote daily!

Susan mom to Niko....Go to Forums (at the top of this page) click on it. Then just type in shipping car in the search and several discussions will come up with recommendation of who to use and who not to use. Good luck.

Hello Kelley! I just returned home from San Diego!! The Vinson looked so mighty coming into the Port! Was great to be able to tour the ship!

If you are looking to ship your sons car call your local auto dealerships... they can give you the names of local car transporters. I know several sailors that have shipped their vehicles. He will need a place to meet the transporter off base... the truck cannot get onto the base to deliver a vehicle.
