I mean EVER. Chris hasn't had watch yet, in the entire month he's been there!
Comment by Arwen on March 25, 2010 at 4:48pm
Okay, Chris says he doesn't have watch. That's just not right.

He checks the watch roster every day but his name isn't on it. He knows he's supposed to have watch, and has to have full watch quals in order to move on to Phase III.

He's been at Corry for a month now; a week of indoc, a week of holding and two weeks of school. What's he missing here?

Chris called the other day, salivating over the equipment he saw during a visit to the "hardware room." He didn't bother trying to explain it to me (either security or the knowledge that I wouldn't have a clue) but he's so funny. Like a kid in a candy store who's been told that he can have it all.

deanneCA ~ I will have to change my profile picture to include a photo of her. When I found her online, my daughter and I decided that she was a bit odd looking and we HAD to adopt her. My son thought she was "one homely dog" until he met her. The foster family named her Norah Jones, as she was taken from a kill shelter the same day that Norah Jones won several Emmy. We kept the name. She sings when she greets you at the door after a hard day of work...so it fits her - LOL : ) ~ kk

Chris also misses the animals. The animals he grew up with all died in the last few years, and knowing that he would be going off to college he didn't get a "personal" pet. However, the rest of us did, and Chris always asks to "talk" to them on the phone. The dog is confused and the cats think the phone is evil.

Actually, if they are still an E-1 they are still SR (seaman recruit) even if they aren't technically a "recruit" any longer. Once they make E-2 they are SA (seaman apprentice). They aren't SN until they make E-3. For my Chris, that won't be for another year, at least.

juni ~ Even though they say they miss us, most of the questions are about their pets. Right? My son can't wait to get home to see our animals; his cat (fat and lazy), the cat he rescued now says he is mine, his sister's ill behaved dog (even after classes!), and our Australian Hound/Beagle/Lab mix rescue (that chases stuff and runs into trees - with more tennis balls than the pros). Thank you for sharing your puppy with our loved ones missing theirs. : ) ~ kk

We were bringing our dog to get groomed today and while at red light outside Corry's main gate there was a car in the lane next to us about to go to the gate that had 3 or 4 guys who were getting a kick out of my dog. My huge fluffy yellow Labrador sticking his snout out the top of the window!
