So precious Carrie!  I know it was hard to leave!

Welcome back Carrie.  I know your trip was wonderful!  I hope Amber and the baby are doing well.

Yep, according to Dev, typical stuff in Naples.  Most of the govt is corrupt over there and there's strikes all the time.  Aside from that and the lack of deoderant used in the summer time by the locals he says it's fine LOL!

1 more week and my kid is home on leave for a month!!  Marcy, pretty sure our kids will be having dinner together this week :0)

Marcy - I have heard about the trucks striking and blocking traffic for hours.  I remember seeing a picture several months ago, so it might very well be something that happens frequently.

Well this sounds encouraging - NOT!  NSA Naples says a truck strike is set to run 7/8 - 7/13 and previous strikes of this nature disrupted traffic, stopped deliveries of goods and services, and personnel are to stock up on personal items & gasoline. And they're recovering from a power outage that started Monday. Yikes, reading back on their posts I see protests, gas shortages...is this typical stuff?

Pam that sounds like fun!  We have more than enough sun here in Scottsdale but the nearest "beach" is a pool with a white sand beach at the local Hyatt lol so my pool will have to do.  I can see fireworks from my deck though - fun except the sound sets off every poor dog for miles and it sounds like a scene from 101 Dalmatians :)

Everyone have a fun Fourth of July!  We are headed to Daytona Beach for eight days of sand and sun. Hopefully our boys and girls stationed in Italy and around the globe will be able to celebrate this holiday in a way that will make them proud to be Americans!

"Sailors at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples participated in a two-day community engagement project repairing bicycles to donate to the Ivory Coast in Africa." Awesome effort...http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=68029

Cruising the 99¢ Store today looking for those Magic Eraser things and picked up this little frame - I'll toss the rose-scented thing & the photo frame will end up on the fridge, or Xmas tree, or whatever - couldn't resist for 59¢ :)
