The sailors do have a class ENDOC that tells them the do's and don'ts and where to go and not to go, I have they listen and I pray for them everyday. So far my son has had no problems, but he has not been off of base by himself and I think that is a good rule. I am happy you are all here.

Ok, this is what I know about traveling to Naples in May, May and September are the best months to go, not a lot of tourist in those months and the weather is nice, not too hot. We are leaving on the 25th ( I have to wait for my daughter to get out of school) we are flying to Paris for 3 days, then off to Naples, yes I have heard from my son and the travel agency it is not a pretty place but there is every are sailors are so here I go. Stephen wants to take up to Sicily, he has a few friends on that base and I would like to see a sub (there are two bases and one is a sub base). And then I do not know what else we are going to do, still planning. So a week in Naples and then off to Rome with Stephen, we are planning so tours and then we will leave from Rome and Stephen will take the train back to Rome, we are taking a train from Naples to Rome. We will be in Euope for two weeks. If anyone else is going in May let me know maybe we can meet up. When I know more I will let you know, still in a planning stage. Airfare for round trip so far is $1,100 coach! I will let you know what the trip will cost. I have the number for the Navy lodge on the base if anyone needs it, I think that runs around $47 a night with a kitchen set-up. That is where we are staying in Naples, that is right on base.

LOL, that would be a fun trip for you and your friends. Good for her, you must be very proud of her. Stephen did a year of college and did not like it so he became a fireman and I guess that was not enough, he was having a hard time getting on a fire department full time. But he loves it there and has been to Rome and Sicily. The Navy has two bases on Sicily and one is a sub base, my son has a friend there from P-Cola so he went to visit him. We are planning to go visit him in May, so I hope that all works out, well when she is ready to go I will be glad to answer any questions. I even talked with another Mothers son before he left, Pam is a mom on here she was a big help for me. They are suppose to have a sponsor but Stephen's was not very good plus he had missed flights because flights were late and the he had not bags for a week, the kid had it hard the first week there. But he is fine now he has been there since May. This was his first pick on his Dream list so he was happy, I wasn't LOL but I just want him to be happy and he seems to be. Oh you will have to get skype, that way you get to see them when you talk with them and it is free, I talked with Stephen for 2 hours yesterday and it cost us nothing. I am glad you are here.

Pam, it is so good to hear from you. I have missed you! It sounds like things are going well for Dre. Going in June, we are going in May. We just went to a travel agency yesterday and she is working out a trip for us. I know a mom who just went and paid around $700 for airfare but airfare goes up in the months we are talking so far it is over $1000 YUK! But that is fine as long as I get to see my son. Yes after a while they all want to move off base. Stephen is great and still on base I think a test should be coming up soon for him to get his E3, good for Dre, keep us updated and come on more often, if it is easier to do e-mail we should do that. Take Care!
