Have a great time in Naples, be sure to check with the travel office there to see about tours offered. My son has been there for over 2 years, living off base in a town nearby. He now speaks fluent Italian and loves the life there. I wish I knew about some of the tours through the base when we visited him in 2011. We have a great time. He will be packing up and leaving next year, so I won't have a chance to get back there.

Just bought my airline tickets to go see my son in Naples in late December.  My sister and I are so excited!!

I am sure they know each other, what is your son's name? My son got there in March 2012. He is moving up to the maternity ward in the next few months.  Welcome to the site.

He originally was working at the Capo Clinic, but now he is at the hospital in the ER, but I think he thinks he will be moved to family medicine pretty soon.  He has been in Naples since April 2012,  so it sounds like they came about the same time.   I think he likes it pretty well.   They seem to have a good time together.  If your son's name is the same as in your user name, he says he knows him.

Jana, my son has been in Naples for a year and a half, he loves it.  He is a Corpsman in the pediatric clinic at support site.  What does your son do?

Well I just put my son back on a plane today to go back to Naples after being home on leave for about 3 weeks.  It was great having him home and seeing him after not seeing him for about a year and a half and will probably be close to a year before I see him again.  He should be close to landing in Paris by now.  Does anyone on here have a loved one stationed in Naples now?

Carrie, what is going on with you?  How is the baby?  Any pictures?  What is your daughter doing now, is she out?

Grasshopper, I am so very sorry for your loss.  My son spent his four years in Naples, and just loved it.  He is not out of the Navy and home.  I will keep you and your family in my prays.
