Carrie - Tell her to ask Jamie!  If he can swing it with his training, he will go.  He wants to see everything!  He took some wonderful pictures of a museum in Naples on Thursday.  I'm in awe of the architecture there.  I cant' wait to go!.

Carrie - Amber is going to London the same weekend Devin is going!  They are friends on FB and I saw she posted when he mentioned the weekend he is going!  That is assuming that Amber C is your Amber, by the profile picture I'd say yes!  LOL

I agree Carrie!  I'm in Georgia, right outside of Atlanta.  Orignally from Northwestern Indiana, about twenty miles from Chicago.

Heard on the news this morning that more troops are being sent to Afghanistan and even more in the Spring.  Jamie has already gone through FMTB and may end up getting deployed.  He told me before he left to keep an eye on things going on in Afghan and Korea. I'm trying not to "borrow" sorrow and I know it's his job, but it still scares me.

Carrie - I'm going to have to find me an authentic Italian store!

My son seems to call mid day too Pam, I think he calls me when he's thinking about dinner!  LOL

Carrie - does Amber have any idea where she will go next?  A lot of the corpsmen that are there that went to A school with Dev are leaving in May and going right to FMTB rather than C-schools, they said the needs of the Navy are playing a big role in it.  We still have 2 more years to worry about what is next for him but he has decided that he will most likely re-up when the time comes as he's really liking it.  We shall see!

Debbie - so Stephen left from Chicago when he went to Italy?  Dev left from Portsmouth after C-school, he was delayed for several days as well but he had made friends on base while there for school so he was able to go sleep on couches until his flight left.  He says he will pay extra to fly commercial before he waits for military flights again - lol!

Goodbye's are the worst.  My emails start coming in at work around Noon, so that must mean his work day has ended.  Hard to get used to the time change.  I called him at 5:00 p.m. (EST) to see if his cell phone that he got over there was working and forgot it was 11:00 p.m. his time.  So, the call went into  voicemail and since the message was all in Italian, I wasn't sure who I called!!  LOL.  I just sent him an e-mail the next day.  He said he hadn't set up his voicemail yet - hadn't been able to figure it out!  Poor kid.

I miss good 'ole Chicago food!  I've lived in Atlanta for 10 years now and whenever we go up to visit family, the first thing we want is Pizza.  Jamie said he ordered a pizza over there and it was very strange the way they assemble four toppings - each topping had it's own section.  He also said the mozzarella cheese was unbelievably delicious.  Well, must be lunchtime here, making myself hungry.  Let me go eat my huge salad since Christmas goodies are starting to show their bad, bad effects!  Have a great day everyone!

Sharon, when Stephen left for Italy he spent 2 almost 3 days in the airport because the flight coming into Midway was late so he missed all of his flights.  The Navy called us on Sunday and was wondering where he was. LOL  They said that happens all the time.  His luggage came around 5 days later, he had nothing.  He has a friend down there already and gave some clothes to Stephen to wear.  Stephen has a list of things he wants to do while he is here so far so good.  LOL  Plus he is relaxing and catching up on movies.  He is eating his way thur Chicago. LOL  He does miss he food here but he does eat very well in Italy.  LOL  Yes our sailors are really growing up, don't like it. LOL  Stephen drove me to work today he wanted my car we went passed his high school I told him I would love to have both my kids back there he said no way.  I asked him if life was ez then and he said yes, just miss them being around, well you all know the feeling.

I hate goodbyes too, Dev told me "it's not goodbye momma, it's I'll see you soon"  He's grown up so much.  He loves being home but I think trying to see everyone and do everything puts a little stress on him.  Although he did say that this trip home was the best so far, he didn't feel too stressed and got to see the people that matter the most.  He was pretty excited to be getting back to work and seeing his Navy friends.  Of course his luggage was lost, took an extra day to find it and he had to go back to the airport to get it.  Only one thing missing from his bag so he was happy.  His friend Steph came in yesterday and they lost her bag too, said it should be there today.  I am seeing a pattern here?  Oh well, as long as all of their belongings are intact I guess an extra day is ok to wait.

Have a great day moms!

Sharon, I still tell the story about Stephen coming home and sometimes I still cry, I still cannot believe it. He said yesterday it is already Tuesday, time goes by so fast, they (Navy) should really give them three weeks of leave.  LOL I guess I am never happy. Just want as much time as I can to be with him before he goes back.  I took Tuesday the 11th off and so did his father, we will go to breakfast and then take him to the airport, he leaves around 1:30.
