Hi, that is so cool that Jamie and Amber met.  Now he has a friend and she will introduce him to everyone and he will have tons of friends. I told Stephen to go meet Amber and now they are friend. I guess Amber will have to introduce Jamie to Stephen. The boys (Father and Son) went to a hockey game tonight.  I went back to work today and I just wanted to go home to be with Stephen. LOL He had plans so that was good, it is hard a lot of his friends work during the day but we have people coming and going all weekend. Had a family party on Satursday and boy were they surprise they could not believe it.

Pam I know you were glad he was home it is hard enough with them gone but even harder during the holidays and it has been two years since he has been home.

Italy is great and so many places to go and see for our sailors. I know he is not sorry he asked for Italy.  Well we also had a great trip to Paris, Italy and Rome, never thought I would go there.    Sharon I have been to London it is wonderful, Devin is going to love it.

Carrie - Devin is going to London MLK weekend, one of his friends is celebrating a birthday and a group of them are going!  I love seeing all the pictures of the places Devin has been, it's such an incredible opportunity for them. :0)

Good morning y'all!  Catching up here, have been limiting my computer time while my boy is home, he's sleeping in at the moment, heading back to Naples in the morning.  It's been wonderful having him home, absolutely wonderful.

OMG Debbie - you just brought me to tears!  What a wonderful way to start the new year with your Stephen surprising you like that!  Enjoy your time together!

Pam - had to laugh, Devin got to Naples last December just before the holidays and he too went on the Rome Pub Crawl for New Years!  Just the words "hey momma, spent new years doing a pub crawl in Rome" blew my mind!  :0)

Devin will be in Naples another 2 years, for some reason he was in that short window of time when they were sending for 3 years so I'm sure Jamie will meet him too.  He works at the hospital where Amber works but has a friend that he sometimes stays with at the other base when they are going to be heading out to town, a beautiful girl that Jamie will no doubt meet, she's also a corpsman and everyone who sees pics of this young lady asks who is that stunning young lady with Devin in the pictures.  They've been friends since corpsman school.  Have a wonderful Sunday, may 2011 bring happiness, health and peace our way!

Small world Carrie!!  We were able to skype for over an hour today and Jamie told me he met Amber. He was shocked that someone knew who he was!  He is absolutely in awe of Italy right now.  It's almost like he can't even describe in words how "different" it is...  He said the phrase of the night was "You speak Engilish?"

Happy New Year!!  I'll be parking here for the next two years!  Can't wait to start seeing pictures of Italy from my son.  He said as soon as he can get the internet up, he'll post pictures!  Luckily, he loves to take photos!  I have already started my Italy fund and plan on going over sometime in 2012.

Debbie - congrats on having Stephen home!!  I'm so grateful Jamie was able to spend Christmas with us before leaving for Italy.

Happy New Year to all of my friends here on the Italy site.  I am so glad you are all here, not many of us, but we should do a lot of talking. God Bless!

Stephen is home, he walked in 10 minutes ago and surprised me, he looks so wonderful, I cannot believe this.

Jamie was lucky that he had a fellow friend/sailor going to Naples at the same time, so he had a travel companion!  He is on Capo and is communicating via e-mail right now.  His EMT courses start up on January 18.  He's already planning on taking language courses and said the cars are very small and the driver's are crazy!  Sound familiar?  He also said he is living next to a live volcano.  Be still my heart!  Yikes!  He also loves the history he is seeing.  Said it's everywhere.  Sometimes I forget that America is young compared to other countries!  I can't wait to get to know everyone and I'm sure I'll be asking for lots of advice!!

Carrie, the weather is getting a little warmer, we might have around 4-5inches of snow but it did get to the high 20's today but the night are in the teens and windy.  I am off of work until the 5th so I am enjoying myself. Mailing out a box to Stephen tomorrow, he will be surprised.

Pam, Stephen had a terrible sponsor, but he had a friend down there already and he helped Stephen out.  Stephen is on Capo, we will have to get these boys together.  Stephen had problems with his flights, we took him to the airport Friday and he arrived in Italy Monday.  All the flights were late. The Navy called my house asking where my son was, I told them how come they did not know. LOL  I told them about he flight and they say it happens all the time.  I know they gave Stephen around two days to rest up and then started INDOC right away because a new class was beginning, usually they give them a week before INDOC.  INDOC is great Pam, it lets the sailors know where they can go and not to go and how to take the bus, very good information they get.  Let me know where he is and maybe I can tell Stephen.  I am glad he is in Italy, he will love it Pam.  Believe me we all know how hard it is, it does get better I can tell you that and we are always here for each other.

Hi Carrie, Sharon, Robin, how are you ladies?
