Hi ladies, I have not been here in a long tiime.  We are all doing fine, Stephen is working and is happy to be home.  He has bought a car and is looking into a VA loan, I have to tell you there are very good to our sailors looking for a VA loan.

Zman'sman, my son spent most of his four years in Italy and he loved it,he is out now.  My son traveled a lot and saw amazing places, made wonderful friends that he still talks too.  I can tell you my son used skype a lot it is free and it is amazing to see them.  He even took his computer outside when he first got there and showed us the view from skype.  He also used minutes from skype for his phone that was the cheapest way for him, be careful about phones I have heard stories about sailors having hundreds of dollars to pay for a phone bill.

My son was an IT he was stationed on Capo.  What does your son do (S-PACT?) and where is he stationed.  It is a very safe base.  We did get to go see him what an amazing trip so save your money.  Your son will love it.

It is hard at first that they are so far, I missed my son so much but you get use to it and like I said we skyped all the time.  I cannot believe how fast four years went.  The moms here are wonderful.  Have any questions just ask, someone will have a question for you.  My son did not take a lot with him, sailors are always selling items when they are leaving for there next base so you can get things cheap.  My son bought a car and motorcycle, so it was nice he could get around but he was there for a while before he did that.  There is always someone out there that will help your son he wiill not be  alone.  God Bless!  He will love it.

My son is S-PACT and is being stationed in Naples, Italy after training. He'll start training on 7 Jan. Does anyone have any info/or words of wisdom about NSA Naples??

Jamie is now stateside again.  He made it home safely on Saturday.  His next duty station will be Hawaii and attached to a marine unit.  It was such a great feeling seeing him come off that plane!  So, we are going to enjoy having him home for the next month before he leaves again.  His two years in Naples flew by in a flash.  We never even made it out there to see him!  We will, however, make it to Hawaii.  Planning that visit already and we will have to work around his deployments but that's ok.

Take care everyone!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!  We are literally just days away from having Jamie home before he heads to his next duty station.  Italy has been a blast for him.  He has seen so much and experienced so many cultures.  What a great experience although he is ready to leave Naples behind and move on. Good luck to everyone!

I was pleasantly surprised today by a phone call at work from Italy.  He is trying to make travel plans to come home on leave in June.  He wants to surprise his sister by coming to her high school graduation.  She will be so excited! It was great hearing his voice.  He is planning several trips--just waiting on his passport.

Hey All!  Hope everyone's Sailor's are doing good.  Jamie is on the downhill slide of his time in Italy and is really looking forward to his next duty station.  Can't wait to see him!  Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Ladies...Sorry I haven't been on here for a long time.  I need some advice, from those of you who have visited Naples.  I'm planning a visit in the beginning of October.  Rachel told me to check skyscanner.com.  I've been checking and it seems the airline with the best times from the west coast is Luthansa.  I've been hearing that the employees have been walking off the job, due to labor issues and cancelling flights..... Any advice???  Thanks

Well, my son made it home very late last Thursday.  Plane problems caused a 4 hour delay in Dallas, but he does get to have his full two weeks leave before heading to Italy.  I'm so glad to have him home and we're cherishing every minute.

Thanks Sheryl.  I can't wait to live this next adventure through his pictures and posts on FB.  And I'm quite sure Max will find another fun loving Sailor to hang with.  Ha, ha... there seems to be a group of them that stick close.  That's always a good thing in my book.  I just can't wait to find out if he'll make it home for part of the holidays this year.  I know he's going to take his car with him this time so I'll get part of my driveway back.

Mr. Italy - I love that name!
