Hello Moms! I hope you'll bear with me while I brag about my son... :-)
Michael did the gun qualification today. He qualified just fine, but then when they did the target practice, he qualified for a ribbon as a sharp shooter! He did so well, actually, that he was informed that he was only 4 points too low to be qualified as an *expert*!! Today was the first time he'd ever shot a real gun with live ammo!
To say that I'm proud of him is a bit of an understatement! This is on top of scoring high on the big test, which makes him in the top 10% of his class.
His goal now is to earn ribbons/be top in his section in testing and guns; which has only happened a couple of times in the history of this base. But he's going to try his best, and I believe in him!
Thanks for letting me brag... my "civie" friends don't really get how major these accomplishments are... :-)

Cluebee - have a great time seeing your husband!
Schafam - sounds like you enjoyed yourself, that's great!
Boosmom - I'm very glad that you'll be able to see your daughter at Christmas, Congrats... :-)

I am heading out to visit SA this weekend to see my husband. He didn't go off base last weekend, so this will be his first time - haha! I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Everyone. My daughter has been there for almost a month.  She was able to go off base for the first time.  She is waiting to be able to where civilian clothes.

Hi ladies, I have been a member of this group for a while, but my daughter just arrived in San Antonio on Saturday night. She at first thought they did not class up until the 25th but now says possibly the 17th. Still not too sure. Looking forward to chatting with all of you while we go through the next phase of Navy life.
