Hi Keger2001, Congratulations!  I am glad to hear he had a blast.  My son has said nothing but positive information which is great!  On the OC spray, I am sure he is very nervous but I told him to just get thru it. :)  Good luck on the upcoming PIR and I wish your son the best in the next assignment Hi Schafam, PIR was so amazing.  Glad to hear your son is enjoying SA also.  My son says everyone is so nice.  Wish your son the best in his next assignment!

Hi NavyMOM Wasn't PIR amazing?  My sailor graduates Oct 7th from SA and I agree with keger2001 OC was the worst thing otherwise he really loves his training and it is so nice being able to talk to them.  Keger2001 where will your son go after MA A school?  Mine is off the day after graduation to Gulfport Mississippi for more training.  Are you going to his pinning tomorrow.

Hi NavyMOM, congratulations to your Sailor and you for surviving boot! So glad he is liking SA, my son loves it there also, but he graduates tomorrow. He has had a blast and and really enjoyed learning the job of MA. OC spray tomorrow huh? That was the only thing in his training that in his words said "sucked".. Lol but he survived it,never wants to do it again though! Hope you are enjoying communication again with your son, the difference is like night and day between A school and boot. hope he enjoys it as much as my son has.

Well Said Brenda Sue and thanks for the message - I will be calling you soon.

I worked with the Navy for Moms in Atlanta and we had a great dinner with the moms and RDML Yurina.  After that the moms came to just about every event open to the public and cheered on our Sailors.  It was really great.

They go to different cities to promote the Navy.  I've been to one in Dallas and Colorado.  We had lunch with an Admiral (I think it was) in Colorado.  He attended a packing party that Molly's Adopt a Sailor group held.  It was an awesome experience because they had a bunch of new recruits, mom's and dad's and navy personnel helping!

In Dallas, that had a Navy SEAL challenge that we got to help work.  That was fun rubbing shoulders with all those SEAL's and EOD guys!

Thanks Lemonelephant!  LT Tom, I put some information on your page and PM'd you my phone number.  I would LOVE to help!

LT Tom, There is a group, Texas' Moms, that may be of more help than this group since the moms on here are often in other states and their Sailors are in San Antonio.
