Bethy3, He will be able to call you often.  Some weeks are more stressful and he may not call as often (or maybe he will call more dependng on his needs).

My sailor will be coming here right September 17. Is this just like a normal school where he can have contact with me and things like that or is it more like bootcamp?

Hey bc I don't know much about the pinning, but they can choose who does the pinning and I don't think its as formal as PIR, but we are going.  My sailor is looking forward to the 4 day weekend.  Is your sailors pinning on the 7th?

Schafam -Ann - How is your Sailor doing? Mine is tired but doing OK, she was excited about earning a 4 day weekend but they changed that, she has watch duty twice. But I guess she isn't there for a vacation. Can't wait to see her, do you know what this "pinning" is I keep hearing about?

Proud Navy Mom- Southwest Airlines isoffering deals as low as $55 each way. Check it out- great deals right now. A local travel agent can help find the cheapest way too if you let them know what its for. Good luck!

Hopefully, there will be another mom who can get a picture for you if you choose not to go.
