For those coming up on PIR and shipping out to San Antonio. If you are going to PIR be sure to bring their Cell phones, lap tops, ipods etc. and the chargers that go with them. They need a Black (all black back pack ) to travel with. My son bought the Blue Camo one but can only use it at certain times. They can take all of those items to MA school with them. My son was able to come home after BC because of Christmas, so he packed a couple changes of clothes and took with him to San Antonio. Then after he got there and got his address he sent me a list he wanted. Some DVD'S , some CD'S , some food and snacks from home. They have a microwave in their room and a small refrigerator. I have sent him a clothes package, movies and cd's and his favorite cologne, and a food box. Took about 3 days to get to him. They get their mail around 5 -6 at night. He had to wait like a week before he got to do anything because of the holidays After about 2 weeks he got to leave the base, still in uniform but had a day off to go to River Walk in San Antonio with a group from the base. The next Weekend they went back. Tomorrow he will get his orders and thurs will hopefully interview for the MWD( Military Working Dog). He really wants to do this and I think he would be GREAT at it. I would appreciate any Prayers for him!! We plan to go to his graduation on Feb 25th. I have heard that A School graduation is not as big, but more personal. I am excited about seeing him! We have talked some but not every day , they stay busy and still don't have time for MOMMA ( you all know what I mean lol) . Well hope this helped, I have really just began my journey with him but am looking forward to what God has in store for us all!!!

Sure! There are lots of discussions above. Just click "veiw all" right above this comment box - and READ!! My son (who has been an MA for 3 years) actually went to A school in Virginia. I did attend his graduation from that. It is NOTHING compared to PIR - but I am still glad I went!
Most MA's don't have a B (not sure anyone does) - or a C school. After A school, my MA has gone places and done many different trainings. He went to Gulfport, Mississippi and did Expeditionary Maritime training (or something like that). He has done others also. Not all MA's are allowed to talk about what different training they do - OPSEC!! Some go on to work with dogs. That may be a C school.
Jenny, Do you know that your boyfriend will probably have the Monday off after his PIR because it is a federal holiday - President's Day!!
I would make plans to spend that day with him. Better safe than sorry!
