Have you tried flying him out of Houston? I don't mind going to pick him up and bring him to Houston. He can fly out of Bush or Hobby.
Southwest out of Hobby is usually pretty cheap.

Hey Ladies- Is anyone else having problems booking holiday flights for their sailor. I know my husband and I are having a time trying to get him home. The tickets are outrageous or they depart when he needs or both. Very stressful but I know the reward is going to be great when I see him.

Here is a link I got in an email about San Antonio. I think we should start a discussion about things to do and places to stay. Has one been started already?

Hi all, M leaves for Kings Bay tomorrow. Was so nice to have him home for a bit but more excited for his new life with the Navy. He will only be 4 1/2 hours from home!

Maggie McD, I sent you a friend request and message. : ))

She will be told before she leaves where she has to fly out of after A School--but be prepared; it could change while she is on leave. My Sailor was set to return to San Antonio, got word to change and go to VA instead. We looked into the tickets and it would have been awful since it was December and he respectfully asked to go back to SA and explained the price of the tickets and after someone tried to get him a different ticket, he was Okayed to go to SA and leave as originally told.

My daughter (graduating MAA on DEC 3rd) just found out that she will be stationed in Guam. She is so excited!!!
She is under the impression that she will have to return to San Antonio after leave and fly from there. I thought we could just reroute her ticket and have here fly from our home in Baltimore to Guam after leave. Do any of you know exacts about flying out of the US after A school?

Don't worry Ashley - My Dad, Uncle and Cousin (Uncle and Cousin - same family - cousin just retired last year) were all Navy - and all had/have families! Give it time. Once the training portion is done, you'll be able to carry on with your plans - but make sure to check with the "Higher ups" for protocol on marriage for enlisted.

Thank y'all... I'm starting to get nervous about everything... I'm scared he won't be able to have a family and the reason we picked the Navy was because the Navy was supposed to be more family oriented than the other branches of the military.... we both wanted to get married and start our little family :( do Y'all have any advice for us?
