My son also wanted to do that but there was nothing available for another country this time. I told him I am sure he will get the opportunity to travel. Right now I am still adjusting to not having him at home!! I am glad that he chose something where I can go visit.

Well my son picked orders friday--he will be going to Norfolk VA--unless he gets MWD (K-9). Glad he picked somewhere that we have family close by.

Congratulations to all who's Sailors graduated and coming home. My son will be graduating in 2 weeks. I can't believe how fast time flew. He really likes the training there and his instructors. His friend just flew there today to spend the weekend at one of the hotels on base. He is still phase 2 so he has to go back to his room but not a big deal.

Susan, your son will love KW. We live in S Florida and go to the keys often. M wanted it too but there were only 2 billits for it and he wasn't one of them. It's all good though

Hi Alexsmomma , I know they can't use cell phones during class, probably during day ..I believe less stringent on ph calls ,son can use cell as long as he'e not on watch duty .I'm sure she'll be able to call you frequently & update you on her progress .Since we're cross country didnt ask re visits, certain phases they go through before they go off base on weekends .I'm sure she'll be filling you in as soon as she gets there . I wish her well !!

Daughter will be attending MA school in San Antonio soon after she graduates in Dec. What will be expecting contact wise while she's there. Is it as strict as basic. Will she be allowed visitors durring her schooling? Lots of questions!

Miranda's Mom - Your daughter got orders for Washington? is she single or married? I have been reading/hearing alot of different scenarios--gpa, marital status, etc.. on how they get their orders, so just curious.
