JunJens, yes you can (if you meet him at the airport). He cannot bring those things on the base at GL.
Tell your son WELCOME to TEXAS!! He is coming at a GREAT time - pretty decent weather during September and October.

All this OC spray talk is horrible, so sad kimmydee! My son is still at Great Lakes but after talking to him during the "I'm a sailor" call he mentioned the gas chamber was not as bad at OC spray and that he is very nervous about it. On another note, can my son bring anything to San Antonio? I plan on meeting him at airport Friday a.m. with his cell phone and back pack full of stuff like boxers and cookies?! Sorry again to hear about the rough OC spray experiences. WIll be thinking of you guys!

Im so sorry Sarah did not pass the OC spray part, I don't know what it feels like put have heard the storys and seen pt's that have had it. Do you know if they get to "recover" from the first spray before they are sprayed again? I think Brad will be sprayed this friday, but Im not sure about that, hope to be able to talk to him on Monday.

OMG, why does she have to do it again? I thought it was a one time deal.

Oh, I wonder if the droid 2 has a mobile hotspot (where a laptop can connect to the internet as long as the phone is near it), I'm going to call verizon and ask.

okay thank you, yes I remember the base, my oldest son went through boot camp there about 2 1/2 years ago. There's lots to do on base, which is nice when you can't get off. $50 a month seems like a lot of money for internet service but I'm sure my son will pay for it.

I have another question, what do our Sailor's do while their "holding", my son called and said that he was holding and it was part of their address.

Have a couple of questions:
Do they have internet access in their personal rooms? If not how do they use their laptops?
Are their classes Mon-Fri and off on weekends?
What kind of liberty do they get when they don't have class? Weekend passes?
Any info would be great, Thanks

I just shipped my son's stuff to him, I bought a box at the post office and sent it to him priority 2-3 days. Overnight was way more expensive, a little over $100. It was a heavy package. I put insurance on it and delivery conformation, that way i can track it. Cost a little over $50
