If an SA doesn't think they have anyone coming to graduation, who does their pinning? I am thinking I may try to surprise her and come because I know she is saying I don't need to because she doesn't want me to spend the money.

nursecat, if the felony and any consequences occurred more than 10 years ago, then it should not be a problem.

Comment by lemonelephant on September 9, 2012 at 2:17am

nursecat, if there is clear evidence that your husband only engaged in that activity on the one occasion (it also will depend on how long ago it was) and that he has not engaged in criminal activity since, then it should not be a problem.  Yes, the actions of those closest to a Sailor can affect his ability to be granted certain security clearances.

Hi. I have a question. My son just arrived in San An for MA last weekend. Tonight on the phone he told us that my husband having a charge of felony valdalism(very old charge from being young & stupid. He did some damage to someone elses car & it was only a felony cuz the damage was over $500) could mess up my son's security clearance. Is this true?? Could a mistake my husband made years ago effect my sons job oppertunities in the Navy?

Egratia, your Sailor will know when visitors are permitted. That is usually after completing INDOC.

Hi Again Everyone,

You've been such a help in answering questions in the past and I'm hope you may have an answer for me this time around too. Do you by any chance know if sailors who have graduated from A school and are in holding are allowed visitors on base during liberty hours? Thanks all!

Thank you for the information on places to stay. This site has always been very helpful!

We were there this past May & stayed at the Best Western about a mile it two from the base. It had been recently renovated. Not real cheap, but extremely clean, with a hot breakfast & a small bar area.
