Evening, got some time with Chris this afternoon. Had our second visit to Lackland CrossFit. Un huh, yes, we're nuts. But, in out defense, we'll do just about anything to get time in with him!

I still think Chris put a contract out on his Dad & myself! Am dreading tomorrow when all those muscles I've mistreated will seek their revenge! OUCH! Oh! & I ran a quarter mile, I don't run, ever. I power walk @ a four mile an hour pace, that's it. I think even my eyelashes are pissed off. Can't imagine why...oh, yeah, I can. Any time spent with Chris... Well, you all understand.

Chris had more stuff to get ready for his day tomorrow, so we were on our own again. Went to see Avengers this evening, good flick. It was an eat in type of theater called the Drafthouse. Beer, wine, etc., full menu, comfy seats. A first for us, cool, a bit pricey, but cool.

Nite ladies.

I so happy for you that you are having such a great time with your son.  Enjoy the rest of your time with him.  Thanks for the heads up about the Best Western.  We will be heading down the end of June to see our son and I was wondering where a good place to stay would be.

I'm glad you are having a nice time.  It sounds like you are making the most of the time you have.

I was thinking of staying at either the Best Western or the Gateway Inn in June.  Be sure to write a review and include it in the discussion above so we will have input on the Best Western.

Evening.

Day 2 with Chris. Got to spend only a couple hours with him. Disappointed, but understand. He's up at 04:00, full day, Cross Fit & then we want a piece of him. We did experience a baseline Cross Fit while he did his, full on, thing. I was happy we lived through it & surprised Al & I did as well as we did!

After exploring a gun shop, we had wonderful Mexican at Los Barrios, YUM - YUM! Owner/chef has won a couple throw downs with Bobby Flay. We concur with the judgements!

Al & I spent the evening doing a bit of laundry, eating Olive Garden LO's & pop corn.

Tomorrow; we're gonna wander a Japanese garden and .....

BTW: the Best Western a mile from Lackland is lovely! Very happy with our choice.

Thats good to know!! Thank you!! I will tell him.. He is in the reserves so i'm not sure if that will affect him.

You want him to have overnight Liberty rather than Leave during A School.  Leave will count against his accrued Leave, but Liberty would not.  He most likely will have nearly 2 weeks of Leave after A School is over.

Thats great news!!  Thank you!  He requested for leave, so hopefully we will find out soon if he gets it for the weekend =)  I am SO excited!!!  Also ladies, I found on the Riverwalk website that they are having their first military parade and free live bands this Sat 5/19 from 3-5. Im sure it will be a lot of fun.  I told my sailor about it and he is telling all his buddies but I thought I would share it with all of you as well =)

Colleen, no, they do not usually have classes on Memorial Day.  It will depend on what Phase your Sailor has attained and if he has any duties how much freedom he will be allowed over the weekend.  Check with him before you go to be sure that he will be able to leave with you.

pench, yes, there is a small graduation ceremony and I am told that they are very accommodating to those wanting to take pictures and will slow things down so you can get your picture. The Sailors are even able to pick who will pin on their badges. If you are able to go, do, but if not, know that your Sailor will most likely be home that day or the next.  The number of families that make it for the graduation is usually pretty small.  I wasn't able to make it and my Sailor understood.
