NalaLucy01, no, graduation from "A" School is nothing like PIR. It will last about 30 minutes or so. Your Sailor will receive his certificate and have someone pin on his badge. Yes, your Sailor will be able to leave with you if everything is in order and he has arranged for travel with you. Can anyone tell me about graduation from "A" school? My son got his orders yesterday and we know he'll graduate on May 13, just wondering if graduation is like PIR or what to expect, times etc. Any help appreciated. Also do they get to come home with you or more waiting?

hello everyone. My sons PIR is 4/22/16 div 160. Is anyone going to Sarges meet and greet from this division?

ADcrytomom, my son is now out of the Navy, but he did enjoy his time as an MA most of the time. I answered on your My Page since you had also commented on my My Page.

Lemonelephant, where did your son go after MA school? Did he get three top choices to choose from? And how does he like it now?

Yes, you can print it out and send it to him if you wish. He may like it. Remember he is pretty busy right now.

Hello. I am new to this group. My son will be going to SA for MA school too! Really wasn't for sure if I was thrilled about his decision. He was going for CTR and was real excited about that but was disqualified bc of his school loan that he is paying back can't believe that disqualified him! Oh well I guess we are on a new journey. Haven't been to Texas so that will be nice to go see. I have been reading a lot on here. Lots of info. Can I print out about the school and what to expect and send to my son in boot camp so he will know. He has 17 days left until graduation will be so glad to see him!

RockinR, typically it has been in the morning. Sometimes it has to be changed to an afternoon due to other things happening. For example, my then Sailor's graduation was at 1:00 on a Thursday.

Your Sailor will be able to tell you when it will be. You will need to let your Sailor know if you plan to attend and you will need to arrive the day before so that you can get the base pass before the graduation day.

Does anyone happen to know what time of the day the graduation is?   Morning or night?
