gayles, my son has been in Cuba since April. I sent you a friend request. You can ask me questions and I will try to answer them and I can also ask my son what I don't know.

gayles, I left info for you on your My Page.

My sailor is going to Cuba. Any one else?  Any info on Cuba base?

zacsfan, you are in the wrong group and can leave since this info does not apply to you after this comment. Your SR will have 14 weeks of "A" School after BC since he has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM) and will go to "A" School at Fort Sam Houston, not at Lackland AFB for Master at Arms (MA). I left additional info on your My Page.

"A" School graduation is nothing like PIR, but if you are able to go, you should go.

Just getting this straight... After basic graduation and they head off to San Antonio there is another graduation in 9 weeks? I thought he said 9 months. All of this confuses me!

You are very welcome.

I figured out what you meant in your first post.

Mikal, yes, "A" School is 7 weeks after classing up and the new Sailor may be on HOLD for a week or two before classing up. See Break down week by week.

I left additional info on your My Page earlier.

Mikal, your then Sailor will only be at Lackland for 7 to 9 weeks. It is not a good idea to transfer for such a short time since you won't be able to see him much.
