AlohagirlinCA - thanks for checking in.  He is loving it, especially since we are having such a tuff winter here in the mid-west/east.  Loves the job, he and his wife found a great place to live, and they are picking a different sight to see each weekend.  Can't wait to visit them

The winning ticket was purchased at Escape Snack Bar

located at 3360 32nd Street Naval Base in San Diego, last Sept.

Hey everyone be sure to ask your sailors if they bought a lotto ticket last Oct. or so and never checked it.........

A Mega Millions ticket worth nearly $171,000 and sold on Naval Base San Diego about four months ago remained unclaimed Tuesday, California Lottery officials said.http://www.10news.com/news/mega-millions-ticket-worth-170827-sold-o...

SSSailorsMom, I stayed at the HolidayInnexpress in Chula Vista.  It was really easy to commute to the base, inexpensive and a nice free breakfast.

Alwayamom, your sailor will have a ship address (FPO box) where you can send mail.  The flat rate large boxes are discounted for military.  When my son was stationed in Japan for 3 years, I sent him a box every month.

I am flying to San Diego on Friday for a week visit.  I will be staying with my son this time.

We also have stayed at this Navy Lodge.  It's new, has a beautiful roof-top sitting area, and they had some breakfast items.  There are also older, cheaper units nearby that have kitchens.
