Hello everyone, my son reported to 32nd street this week after a transfer from Mayport, FL. Yay that he is in CA where he grew up, but dealing with housing arrangements that did not work out...anyone know of room, apartment or similar available soon?

No mail service on NBSD 32nd street. My son has had a PO Box, makes sending care pkg real simple! I highly recommend getting one.
Happy Friday everyone :)

Noni- My son is in SD just for training until Nov. His ship is currently in dry dock at his assigned base in Hawaii. Yes he did get a car a model he has talked about for 2 years a Kia Soul. His LPO also advised him he may be going for further training at another base possibly in Washington but all that is still in the works per the LPO

FIBroomie - he also should have a email thru his ship.

FIBROOMIE - Monica is at the same base. He did get a car? She has to walk almost a 1/2 mile to get to her car. They receive mail. Is he in the Barrick or staying on ship?

My daughter is on the Amphib base ans she does have an address but it takes 3 weeks to get a 2 day priority box. I usually send to one of her friends that lives off base. I have sent FedEx and had it held for pickup.

Finall found out which base he is at -32-. Now he tells me he has no address there and that he went and got a P>O> box today. Is this correct . They dont receive mail there ?

Splash- look up the history for the Sunshine Skyway bridge. It collapsed in 1980. Check out wikipedia. I got a close up view of the bridge and the Summit Venture a day after the collapse when my X decided we should take our boat and go help in the search for victims. I think that experience is what really increased my fear of heights and bridges.
