Finall found out which base he is at -32-. Now he tells me he has no address there and that he went and got a P>O> box today. Is this correct . They dont receive mail there ?

Splash- look up the history for the Sunshine Skyway bridge. It collapsed in 1980. Check out wikipedia. I got a close up view of the bridge and the Summit Venture a day after the collapse when my X decided we should take our boat and go help in the search for victims. I think that experience is what really increased my fear of heights and bridges.

I just looked up the Skyway bridge...wow!  Not sure if I could go over that one either. I bet we could share some interesting stories. We has one of our main bridges collapse her in 2007. It was absolutely horrible. Thankfully that is an extremely rare occurence.

Splash- Definitely check it out. I know our program is great and they can start at age 14. I wish all my sons had gone into the program but Kyle was the only one interested in law enforcement.

I can not drive over the Skyway bridge here. I have tried with hubby sitting beside me and failed. Even had to retire from my job because the new comcen was on the 3rd floor with huge windows.

FIBroomie. My youngest son (16) has expressed interest in the Explorer program. I will check in to it.

And I am with you...complete fear of bridges and heights! That one is scary but I got through it okay. My girls laughed at me everytime we went over it. Every day got a little easier.

Splash-Noni -My son had law enforcement training for 4 years as a teen through a program with our Sheriff's office. He learned how to write reports, do searches, traffic stops, weapons training even write tickets. They are called explorers and they also compete with other law enforcement explorers from all over the country. He left the post as their Captain going up through the ranks. He has numerous awards and trophies. He even shot better than his instructor in boot camp so I know he knows how to handle himself and a car but being so young I do know he can get cocky and show off.

I am still not sure what base he is on. He was so wrapped up in buying the car he still hasn't answered that question. I did get a photo last night showing the stacks of books he has to read and learn so I know I wont be hearing too much from him now 

Splash - That bridge photo scared the heck out of me. I hate bridges I have severe acrophobia 

We are not planning any trips to SD at this time

Noni. I am also going to SD for spring break in March...unless she is deployed. My daughter still lives on base so I cannot stay with her.

Splash we stayed with Monica. What a great time we had. I'll be there for my spring breK this up coming yeah. It's the first week of April. Hopefully she's not abroad.
