Good morning all- sad day, the body of the US Sailor has been found. I have been crying since reading this. Prayers going to the family and of course the shipmates who worked and loved her also.
On a lighter note, my kiddo graduates A-school today. Thinking by the end of the week she will be in GP.
Today I worry about her and all of our "Dirt Sailors" (as my kiddo calls them!) as well as everyone of our Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, and the many that also defend our country.
Oh Denise, I am right there with you girl. I know with what Kayla has gone through and what will have to be done once she gets to CA, she will also not let them boot her either. Hers is not the same thing, and they have told her, you do not need to have a jaw perform to be in the Navy. They do however want her out of the pain she is in and to be able to eat normally!
I understand where he is at (well as well as a mom can), I know my kiddo has sworn off AF docs and says she will not have anyone but the Navy docs check her anymore. Maybe that is not a good thing. She may be in for a surprise.
Good Luck to Michael. We are all pulling for him, you can be sure of that.
My first holidays without my son only because he took his 2 weeks when he finished A school. It was hard, but Sykpe really helped. I just kept telling myself that it could be worse and he could have been deployed. It did not help that he gave me "If you loved me you would have come here for Christmas". But we managed. He is waiting for reorganization of 7 (he is a BU) which he says will be around the 12th, but is very bored in the meantime. I am glad to hear so many stories of happy Christmas reunions.
For those just starting A school, I went to Gulfport to see my son graduate. It was wonderful because it was a small class (only 10) and very personnel (not like the big div's at PIR). But as stated further back, check with your Seabee to see what they are allowed at graduation.
