I am so excited to be a part of this group. My son, Justin, is on the USS Carl Vinson and of course, they are in Haiti. He is in security and I am so very proud of him and all they guys/gals that he works with. This group is awesome! Chaly

There hasn't been much discussion lately, but I hope everyone had a joyous Christmas. Stephen has again had his orders changed and he will remain in California for at least one year. He enrolled in college and starts in 2 weeks. He is taking a full course load. I hope he hasn't bitten off more than he can chew. Best wishes for a wonderful New Year. God bless all of our sailors.

Thanks Cheryl, for all of Stephen's 18 years, he has matured so much. My boy is a man and I'm so proud of him.

Janie, I will also pray for Stephen. My son-in-law, Luke in the Air Force was over there from Feb-June this year. He came home safe, but things weren't quite as bad for him. Always praying for our troops and keeping the faith.

Hi Becky: Happy to hear your sailor will be home for the holidays. That's a great Christmas present. Stephen received new orders on Thursday, and after 3 months he will be deployed to Afghanistan. Please keep him and all our men and women in uniform in your prayers. Keep the faith

Stephen got his orders for Sacremento on Travis AFB. He likes what his new job will be.

Becky, I would talk to his recruiter first. When my son went off for BC we were told not to tell him anything that would keep him from concentrating on what he needed to concetrate on. His recruiter should be able to help you out with how to tell him about his grandmother.

Stephen told me in fact that they do get a food allowance. Seems kind of backwards. I wonder why they don't just feed them and eliminate all the paperwork. When do they get to go on ships after A school?
