It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Hang on to your faith ladies.  What's going to happen is all for a greater reason than any of us can see.....

Oh my...   I seem to remember someone saying that LOTS of kids are now in RCU.  Do you think that's the reason?  These poor SRs...

Happy, happy, joy, joy, Phillies! You must be packed already and ready to start that drive up to GL! Do you have people coming with you to share the driving duties? I'd be a menace on the road because I would be too excited! Just take deep breaths and be careful, okay?

I got a letter from my son yesterday (yes, third Wed. in a row!) and it didn't sound too good. They're shaking up RCU and wheedling them down according to him. As of the 5th, 11 recruits got sep'd!! If it's any one of your SR's, ladies, my heart goes out to you and your SR! That is a horrible experience! My son is not taking it too good either because he feels that he's next. He has three more med. PFA's to do and if he doesn't pass (even by 1 second), he believes he's a goner. Incentive? or just depressing? He wrote, "People (I) was talking to just couple hours ago and they were in good spirits, and now, they're packing their seabags(?) and heading to Seps. That just blows."

Sorry, I didn't mean to bring everyone down. I'm just informing you all of what's happening, and if someone here is going through this I just want you to know that you are not alone!

Lord, please give us strength to weather this storm, pass or fail, we still love our SR's!

Patrick's mom - thank you for the tips :)   We will be sure to visit.  She has also requested a trip to Dave and Busters.

Phillies, Navy Lodge is GREAT, and soooooo close to the Base.  Have a wonderful time with your daughter - there's obviously no doubt that you will!!!  We'll be anxious to hear about your weekend!

Just a couple of tips if you're interested - there's a place called Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe that's GREAT for breakfast.  If you go, be prepared for a wait.  We also went to Jimmy's Charhouse for dinner, and had an EXCELLENT dinner of filet mignon & lobster for my son and filet mignon for me.  Very quaint and nice place - great service - would highly recommend it if you're looking for a special place to take her to dinner.  A bit pricey but well worth it.  Both are in Libertyville, not too awful far from Navy Lodge and they'll be able to tell you how to get to both places.  (Easy drives).

Have fun!  = )
