It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

That's sweet of you to say, Jill, but,

Sharon: Any new news from you yet????  I live for your updates, ya know.  :)

BoomMom: You are always so much more eloquent in your posts than I am, I need to take lessons from you.  lol

OMG, Janet, I got goosebumps (more like chicken-skin!) and tears of joy for you and your son! Congratulations! Friday seems so far away, though, but that tunnel exit is getting bigger!! Big, big hugs!

Hi Ladies...   Just received word from our son.  He expects (for now) to ship out to San Antonio from Great Lakes on the 20th of this month, then start A-School on the 24th.  As usual, that could change from minute-to-minute, but we're getting closer (hopefully...)  I'm still holding off booking anything -- just in case...  The hurry up and wait thing is so frustrating.  He said he's really looking forward to putting RTC in his "rear-view mirror."  LOL!!

Phillies...   Enjoy your time with your Sailor!!  I'm so glad that you're going -- everyone will feel better once you're there!  Drive safely!!!

Comment by boomMom on April 10, 2012 at 4:48am

Wow Phillies, that's wonderful! I cannot imagine driving for a day (you'd be able to drive 10 or more times around this little island!), but I'd do it to see my Sailor! ;-) Hope your week goes by fast and your weekend slows down time! Fill us in when you get back! Hugs to you and your daughter!

Looks like we are heading to the Great Lakes this weekend :) it is a day's drive but a visit is very mix needed for all parties! We will only be there on Sat and Sunday but I'll take it.

Bwahahahaha! ROFL! That was way funny, Janet! Happy Belated Birthday, btw! I remember when I kept celebrating my 29th until it just got easier to just say, "old enough for you to bring me a piece of cake!" lol

Patrick's Mom-I don't care if you post about your good fortune, because you and your Sailor deserve it! And I know that I'll be in your position soon enough (they can't keep my son forever! :-)) and experiencing what you are experiencing now! I hope you and your parents had a great time with Patrick!

Jill-any update on on your son's condition? Is he still in a cast or phased to 2, yet? <whispering> you really shouldn't be here while at work....<tee hee!>

Sharon-Wednesday! Wednesday! Wednesday! Your son is so ready for this!

momoffive-I hope you had a great Easter weekend, also, any news yet? I know it's only been about a week, right? But we always hope for miracles! Good luck this week!

Good luck and prayers to all SR's, Sailors, Moms, GFs, and Wives!
